| The Shack is Back?
Stopping in to my local Hobbytown this afternoon and saw a Radio Shack banner in the window. Sure enough, there was a whole wall dedicated to electronics parts and pieces with Radio Shack badging. I find this to be pretty cool, there is a lot of nostalgia for me with Radio Shack and it is cool to see it back, even if it is just one wall of another store. Of course, Hobbytown is as close to being a hobby shop as it is to being an electronics store. Most of their employees have to look up how to spell "RC", and their knowledge about their products isn't much higher; I am doubtful if they know how to spell "AC", "DC" or know much about either. More shamefully, they also likely know nothing of the band either. As cool as it was to see Radio Shack again, their selection of products was not that great, and everything hung on peg-board. I would like to see them bring in the larger cabinets that actual Radio Shacks had to provide more product and selection. I know, "You can get that stuff online..." Sure, but for stuff like this, I like to actually see what I am buying, and sometimes I see another part or piece that leads me in a better direction, or even another project. |

Apparently there are a bunch of Hobbytowns carrying Radio Shack stuff. https://www.usatoday.com/story/money...ons/843010002/ |
