I'm not sure what happened this time but considering the overall demeanor of their Facebook page is this any surprise?

Too bad, have wanted to try a set of their tires, but sadly the set I wanted seemed never available to actually buy.

Seems they have turned off an only growing number of people.

Tires popped up on ebay and sold through injora (chicom ripoff artists) that were like 98% perfect copies of 4.19" ottsix klr mt-x. The siping is slightly off and the mold line is centered where the OG ottsix version has the seam offset. They have all the same markings as legit tires too but the compound is shit.

He (matt) said like a year ago that the class 1 tires were delayed because of new molds being needed. Now some dude that works for injora says they bought the mold because matt refused to pay for it etc. Matt has since gone off the deep end worse than ever ranting and raving, calling people names and whatnot. He has blocked most everyone that is on the choodoo (nickname given to the tires) page or that disagrees with anything he posts in general.

I thought he had other issues that went further back than that?

Or was he just known for being generally irritating overall?

Yeah the Injora fiasco isn’t the first event that drove people away. It’s been happening for a while.

He's always been a bit off but in the last year or so his pomposity and shitty attitude in general has gotten out of hand.

To me it looks like injora is admitting to ripping off the product by "modifying " it. Nothing new here.

Not exactly, they own the molds. Matt initiated a design and manufacture process and then refused to pay.

He effectively gave his designs away.

Imo, Injora has done nothing wrong. They incurred costs on behalf of Voodoo and then sought measures to recover their costs when the client screwed them.

If this had happened with a US company I expect we'd all be railing against Voodoo.

Actually, I don't think so. Unless a patent had been filed, AND approved, the contracting company (in this case, Voodoo) had no legal standing. They contracted for manufacturing, and failed to pay. As such, they violated the contract, and would no longer have any legal standing, thus the contacted manufacturer would have the legal right to "take over" ownership of the design, and do with it as they wish.

The exception to this would be if there was a "patent pending" status, in which case they would be free to copy & modify the design (companies legally do 'reverse engineering' all the time), as long as they didn't manufacture & sell 100% identical versions...at least until after the patent matter was resolved. But, since this doesn't appear to involve any patent matter, Voodoo is, legally, "ass out".

Got any proof other than the word of a random guy that works for the company now selling the tires? Trust me, I'm probably the last guy that's going to defend matt but all I see is conjecture and hearsay mixed with hopefulness born out of spite.
