A snow storm in 35 seconds or so.

So, we had a bit of a weather event here in Calgary, Alberta, Canada on Monday night. A bit of a snow storm. About 30cm of snow, drifting to over 60cm in places. I set up a camera and used an intervalometer to record 835 images through the night. One every 90 seconds.

In the first two seconds you catch a glimpse of me barbecuing a chicken. Got it off the barbecue just in time.

As I write this a chinook has blown in and with the temperature now 6°C it's all turning into a sloppy mess. Nothing shut down though. Life just carries on. Lots of people out shovelling and pushing stuck cars and trucks. It's great to see everyone helping each other out.

Heard about this in the news! I'm down in Ontario and we just finally got some snow in time for xmas. I was worried it would be green, but I gotta say I'm glad we didn't get dumped on like that!!!

Might make for some good snowhill climbs though!

My 1:1 4x4 with Goodyear Duratracs, but my tiny truck also has the RC4WD Goodyear Duratracs too hehe

HAHAHA. oh man, I assumed you just typo'd Duratrax. Well for the record Duratrax Deep woods do really well in the winter and I wish I could get them for my Ram.

The Goodyears do as well, I use em for both wheeling and year round general use. My first set on my Jeep got over 150,000km of abuse put on them. My Ram now has them as well, just chews through this snow like nobodies business.

That is some excellent lifespan on a set of rubber!
Last year I bought a set of Perelli Winter tires and they did amazing on the Ram... until some guy in an F150 blew a stop sign and I T-boned him doing 80. So those tires did great for the week I owned em!

Got me a new truck through. hahaha.

I really wish I had a grasp of the metric system at a glance and didn’t have to look up the conversion. If someone told me 60cm was an inch or a yard I’d believe it. Lol

25.4 mm is an inch and 1 cm is 10 mm so 2.54 cm is an inch.

It's even weirder if you're old school Canadian. Used to use imperial in trades till around 8 years ago it all switched to metric. Being my age I convert metric for construction but miles and farenheit mean absolutely nothing to me.

So weird thinking about the fact that English words still don’t describe things to one another due to where we were raised! I can draw 2 dots within an 1/8” to 6” apart but I could be meters off trying to guess cm lol. If my car had no gas gauge but said I had 500 meters till empty I wouldn’t know if that was 2 minutes or 2 hours of driving.

This is my deep interest in other cultures coming out....
