| Opinions on a possible RC trade
I am looking for some opinions on a possible trade I may be able to make with one of my X-Maxx's. There is a person wanting to trade a Losi DBXL gas model for an X-Maxx. I have a second X-Maxx that is for sale and RC's have been moving pretty slowly for the last year or so... I was thinking about responding to his WTT ad and see what it is all about. Not sure if he'd even do the trade, since the X-Maxx will not come with batteries or a charger. The second X-Maxx is completely stock, with no upgrades and is 100% functional. I cleaned it up and tested it on 6s only. Fun ripper, just don't need two. The DBXL is kind of intriguing and would only be driven a handful of times throughout the year, and or, just sold off as well. What are some of my fellow RC brethren's thoughts and things to look out for. Some pics of the DBXL: |

I'd do it... those are badass buggies, and gas engines are far easier to run than nitro. Only issue is re-selling it at some point in the future. It took me 2 years to sell my Baja, no one wanted to pay for the shipping, or even do 1/2 and I refused to sell it for less than 1/2 what I paid. Finally I found someone local and we worked out a deal. I can only imagine shipping costs on that one. Plus, gas/nitro is sometimes a hard sell nowadays. |

Thanks OSRC. I will likely contact the guy when I get home next week, just to see if he is interested. The gasser would be fun, even if for only a little bit. It the trade goes down, I will clean it up, fix any broken or overly warn parts and put it up for sale. I generally only sell locally, as shipping is out of hand, but you know that all too well... Nonetheless, if it goes down, I will post it up |

Well, we made the trade today. I was not the easiest, as the X-Maxx ESC have up the ghost while we met and he never got to actually test drive it. Still made the trade, but I lightened my wallet a little, which was okay and I felt okay with the deal. The DBXL Rig is a beast. Starts with one or two pulls and seems to run good. In typical fashion, didn’t take me long to break something… while running up the snow hill in our circle, I found the one solid, flat piece of ice that stopped me dead in my tracks and I apparently broke a lower are pin and little plastic cap retainer thing. Should be an easy and inexpensive fix if the local hobby shop has the parts. Will know tomorrow. Nonetheless, this thing is a blast. I’ll drive it a bit and then it’ll go up for sale. I like it and it’s fun, but not likely something I’ll keep in the herd. |
