Default 31" challanger offshore build... very unuasual power!! pics!!

well i'm starting my first real build. after some deliberation i decided to go with the challenger hull and speedmaster hardware (thankyou moppie)

-14 ib4200's
-novak hvmaxx
-speedmaster hardware
-full plumbing
-real offshore looks (planing on either a SCARAB or cigeratte)

i got it running friday for a little bit. heres the deal

ok, here's the deal. this weekend i got three and 1/2 runs on her

the first run was pretty amazing. it ran around very fast and unstable. at 3/4 throttle she chine walked and bounced inches out of the water. at full throttle she flipped and tumbled.

the second run was a repeat of the first but with no full throttle.

the third run was ran with light chop and the batterys set more foward. this helped and i could keep it on full throttle but not long enought to get top speed.

the 4th run i moved the batterys more forward. the only waves were from my wake. this run i got more speed but when i'd hit my own series of wakes and the bow would lift more off each bounce theartning to blow over like a hydro.

thru it all the elctronics stayed at about hot tub temps.

my 4th run was cut chort by the water exit hose coming in the boat and wetting the speedo and thus frying it

getting a new one thru the novak exchange program

you need to build or buy some trim tabs for it.You monipulate the additude of the boat with prop pitches also.Youre out drive looks to be adjable,so play with that,on plane half the prop in the water.Trim tabs are a must,I run a 48'' v haul with a 5.0 hp zenoha if i dont have my tabs on there it takes off like a kite everytime, wild ride,to much fun.Unfortanatly i havent run it in about 5 years ,been rockcrawlin, and the boat needs a cash injection now that i dont have.ONce you get youre tabs tuned then play with props its all about the prop.

i kind of figured i would. i hate using them in 1/1 but tabs might be needed now. i already got her trimmed at a slight negative angle and that with moving the batterys helped so were getting there

holly ****!! what kind of boat is it?

the speeds are funny. mine will go 400mph scale on 18hp

in real life to go 130mph in a big deep vee it takes 1800-2500+ hp

150+ your talkin 5000+hp
