| 1:1 yota 1/2 door project
Well, I have a bunch of runs this summer and I was tired of full doors on the yota. I had a extra set of stock doors , that were already black, So Last night we got out the plasma cutter and here is the start of my new 1/2 doors. still need to weld in the inner panels, arm rest, handles and latches, but the major surgery is done. |

That does not look like your shop.....wooden walls? I like the half doors though, how are you going to latch them? |

Looks good, but I did mine so that they angled down at the front (starting just at the upper hinge top mounting bolt) and then straight back at about the height of the middle of the door key lock hole. Used the stock yota hinges, latch and inside handle...just cut and bent the linkage rod and cut a new mounting hole for the inside door handle. Then cut out some more of the inner panel so that I can put store stuff in there...they kinda have less storage space after a couple seasons of use though...lol...

| Looking really good . I made half doors for my Jeep last year and what a great improvement over full doors. After a year of wheeling with half doors I made a set of tube doors. |

they look pretty good, but why do it? why leave the top of the door at all, you have no window anymore. just wondering.

| I leave the door frame to protect the cab corners, w/o them, your door jam can get some nasty rock dents and your regular doors won't close anymore |

| LOL, need to hammer mine back and throw a couple spot welds on my A-pillars. If you live in cold/wet climate the half-doors with the upper frame make it easier to make some snap on flexible windows like a jeep.
