Default Brushless inrunner help.

I need a brushless motor for my stadium truck to run with my Mamba Maxx that is comparable to a Mamba 7700 kv. It will usually run on a 2 cell lipo but will need to be able to take a 4 cell lipo without grenading.

Any suggestions?

mamba 4600

Unless you want to drop huge cash on a lehner, you wont find a motor that does both 2s and 4s well. The 4600 is fast enough on 2s anyway, but turns into a super rocket with long runtime on 4s. You can always gear up or gear down for speed changes too.

4600 won't cut it. I have been running a SS5800 and it needs to be a little faster than that on 7.2 and 7.4. I will be club racing my T4 with this setup.

I guess I will just get a 7700. They are pretty cheap.

Yeah, if you need fast on low voltage you want the 7700 or the 6900. If you want to run on 4s, just get another motor down the road.

I really have no idea how you intend to keep a T4 on a track with a 7700 in it. Even the 5700 is almost too much motor for a lot of tracks.

FWIW, I suggest looking into the new Orion Vortex/Peak Vantage BL motors. I've got a 7.5 in my FT T4 and 5.5 in my Team T4. With conservative gearing on these setups, the 7.5 has been GPS'ed at 31mph and the 5.5 at 38mph. I'm able to run these for 35-40 minutes on a track in 95F weather with temps never going over 140F on either the motor or ESC. Also, these work very well on the MM ESC...that's what mine are being run with.

Well come on up to Ocala and you will see why I need more power. Huge track. It is a stop on the State Series.

Maybe you need to work on your setup because I have absolutely no problems keeping it on the track. Only problem I have is needing more speed.
