Default Vynil Window help please

I picked up a couple vynil windows from a friend of mine to use in a project I will soon be starting. However the Window section has seperated in some places from the frame, the window panes are still sealed.

Would I be able to just run a little silicone around the frame and put them back together, or is the frame part of the sealing of the window.

I hope this makes since and that some one can help answer this question, there are $2000 worth of windows and I got them for free, so I would like to make them work.

Thanks Again
TQ

ON most the windows that I've used the frame and window are two seperate parts put togeather. But take it for what it's worth I haven't hung a window since 1996.

I'd call a local window place and ask them you'll get a quicker answer w/ more info.

Below are the pictures. As you can see the double glass is still sealed, but the frame has pulled away in some places.

Could I just put some silicone around the frame and use a rubber mallet to join the two back together.

How did the vinyl separate from the seal on the glass? If the vinyl is that warped i wouldn't use them. If you think about were the rain is going to go when it hits the window, run right down it and once the silicone fails you have water, and then you have mold problems. You could flex-a-seal the glass and rubber seal back into the vinyl. If your going to go threw all the work, time and money to install windows. Then you should spend a little more money on new windows. Maybe just do a little at a time to save money.

If you would like a professional opinion in person hit me up

Liquid Nails. Make sure that you do not get any on the window where you will see it. It will seal the vynil to the glass without leaking.

Im not sure how they seperated, my wife picked them up of CL for free, this is why if they cant be fixed no big deal we did not pay anything for them. The frame does not look warped, I was able to just "pop" it back over the glass on one window. To me it looks like the guy before me just lifted them by the frame (they are big window 6'x5' big)

I am adding on to a house so a little at a time is not an option for me, and I am framing and installing everyting myself.

At this time, I think I will look into the liquid nails and then run a bead of silicon "or something like that" down the edge, and if it can be seen o well. Its just a temp. house anyways on a very limited budget.

Chances are the house will be knocked over in 5-10 years and the farm will be sold.

Thanks everyone, any other suggestions are still welcome.

Yeah, Liquid Nail it then silicone it should be good, maybe in a few years you'll have to recaulk it. That is odd for the vinyl to pull away like that though. If your not worried about screws or can cover em, I'd run a few screws up in em too.
But thats just me, I like screwing things.

thanks I needed a little chuckle at work today. Looks are not that big of a deal, My wife and I and our 3 year old live in a 700sqft place right now, when this place is done it will be about 1600 so we are just happy to get a bigger place, and we are getting things from here and there to make it happen, so all of the frames for the doors windows and what not do not match but hell they where all free.

O and the shop I get, well thats a whole nother post next month.

Yeah, on that note, screw em back together. You can paint them all to match or just replace them later down the road.
