welcome to the LHS on the day after christmas!!!!! except it involves an electric car/truck or the wrecked plane.

The MOST COMMOM AFTER CHRISTMAS SCENERIO


Cust: I gave this to my kid for CHRISTMAS and It didnt work right it just took off when it was 15 feet away we couldnt controll it

Me: did you read the instructions

Cust: Yes I did

Me: thats why the antenna is coiled up in this neat little ball and twist tied together
-OR-
well your missing 8 'AA' 's in the controller.... that'll cause it

Cust: It never covered that in the manual

Me: you mean this little piece of paper that says caution in big letters. I can waive the $20 repair charge, but you will have to cover parts

Cust: thats ok id just rather return it

Me: sorry we dont take back used Items unless there is a factory problem and even then we will most likely just replace the bad part.

Cust: your policy states 14 days!!!! I want to return it

Me: Yes 14 days UNOPENED, UNUSED and it also states no refunds on electrical items!

Cust: Thats ok Ill call my credit card company!!!!

Me: OK, here is your car back

Cust: (not seeing the result he wanted from the threat placed out) Thats ok you keep it, Ill get my money back

Me: Nah we win these most every time... since we can proove this is user error and not defective equipment, we'll win the charge back

Cust: Let me speak to your manager

Me: What can I do for ya?

Cust: NO I WANT TO SPEAK WITH YOUR MANAGER

Me: I am the manager

Cust: this is the worst customer service I have EVER had

Me: Im sorry you feel that way but I did offer to fix it for FREE, an offer you wont get most places else and all you have to do is pay for broken parts.

usually 1 of 2 things happens

1. He ponies up the $35 in parts
OR
2. We get a chargeback in about 3 weeks, write an explination and keep our $

Yeah, I deal with that computer moron on a daily basis. Thats why I refuse to help anyone that has a computer problem any more.

The best Ctrl Alt Del is the one with the L337 kid.
