well i got her running and she runs pretty darn good. very fast and stable in the straights. turning sucks but my wiehgt balance was way off so thats understandable. i had one blow over but i was running full throttle into the wind. she rode her prop right before the blow. what i don't understand is why the motor was getting so hot. i was running a fieago 14xl with a 42mm prop on 20cells with a water in a abs boat and she would barely pass the 5 second test. this boat doesn't shoot a rooster like my other boat. is the prop to deep? would that cause the overheating? i love the look of this boat as it bounces over small boat wakes along the beach. it's cool look to see how real it looks and hear people ask "is it gas?" |

get a shorter bracket for the rudder, thats your problem. at least we found that to be the case on our 45" boats, your smaller ones may need it for stability. our rudder sits 1-2" off the transom, weve tryed them 4" back and it looses all its steering. of course we run offset rudders, (not behind the prop) so were able to get it alot closer to the transom |

it steers sharp sometimes but it also barely turns at others. it seems to like gradual turns at full throttle but it still spins out on occasion

A turn fin will help with the spinning out, but also affects your turning. I ran my mini v without one and it would always spin out, added a turn fin it stopped spinning out, but the turning radius was increased.
