Default Help converting to Vector files?

I need some vinyl cut and have to get it done local. the guy can't go from an illustrator file JPG and convert it to a Vector file.

I have done any "real" graphic design stuff for over 12 years so I have no clue anymore.

Can anyone help with directions or I can also email the files for a conversion.

I need this before tomorrow PM.

thanks

Oh, and if you need retribution we can work something out.

Thanks
jj

You can't really convert a raster file to vector per se... but if you need to, I can do a trace of it in Photoshop and convert it vector most likely. How complicated is the image?

I can usually rebuild a logo in Corel pretty quickly.

Rizzo and K_B send me PM's with your email.
I'll forward the files later tonight and see what you can do.

the images are a little jacked as they just overlayed each part so some goes where it shouldn't.

The whole thing will end up being like 63cm long. but have a bunch of small images.

Another option to convert a raster image to a vector is to use the new version of Illustrator. When you bring in a raster image into Illustrator, you have an option at the top that says something like "live convert". You can then pick all sorts of different options to convert to a vector image.

Of course, the trick is having Illustrator to do it.

live trace, and it doesnt need to be a raster image. you can 'trace' and convert any image to vector paths in endless levels of complexity and detail.

its rad.
