Default When you pull to many amps........Boom

thought id share this. it happened back in july but i could never get the pics on the hardrive.


blew a hole in the hull and weakend everything. blew the motor mount out of hull. blew the hatch off but it stayed on by a thread of tape

thing sounded like a shot gun when it went off and looked like a fighter jet blowing it's canopy

ah, yes... the all too familiar battery explosion. I had that happen to me once on my XXX-T Brushless. It put a hole the through the chassis and a crack down to both ends. And put black soot all over the inside of the body... But it was pretty funny

i found it funny to, me and my dad were doing that "oh ****" laugh when it happened. in the video when it happens you can here him say , "What the hell? it blew Up!!" while he's laughing. that soot stuff was nasty, when it mixed with water it kind of burned my skin




snail mail, no pics. nothing to impressive about a patch the size of a quarter that was domolished and hairline cracks every where elses. still run the hull but were scraping it this winter to build a 4 foot 2 inch apache

I'd be willing to bet that failure was due to the fact a lot of IB4200's have had internal shorting problems lately. There have been a ton of folks on rctech.net complaining how bad those cells are in terms of lack of lifespan and their volatility. That's also the reason that maxamps.com is carrying Eastpower 4200's instead of the IB4200's now.
