Default When did Buell get into Prostock bike racing?

Never really followed it but was flipping thru the channels the other day and came across a race, forget what it was. When did they start racing twins in the prostock class? I have always liked Buells, owned a '96 Lightning up until a few years ago.Definately a fun street bike.

Nothing like the sound of a high HP twin.Got goose bumps

up until a few years ago, buells shared the same engines/trans as sportsters. sportys are, and always have been great drag bikes. so it only made sense to drag the buells too.

And they are beating the jap bikes.Great to see Buells racing.
I really miss my Lightning.Had a few mods to it.One of the mechs at my local HD shop raced Buells and tuned mine.Put out just a little over 100hp.Pretty good for a twin at the time.I suprised quite a few Mustangs with how quick it was.
