| My Side Project for My Wife
Here's something I'm doing for my wife. I've kind of gotten her interested in RC's lately and her favorite Sports Car is the Ford Shelby! I got a Tamiya TT01 Kit with the Enzo Ferrari body set and I finished up and test drove it. It has all stock Tamiya stuff and Futaba Tx/Rx but the new body is going on and it'll get many upgrades! So here's some pics and I'll add more later after it's been painted up. |

Damn....that Shelby looks awesome!! I think I might have to build one just like it. My father-in-law has a 65 fastback and I am sure he would love an RC of his car...

| Thanks JeremyH! It is a sweet car. Me and my wife would love to be able to buy a new 1:1 but the funds just aren't there. Not tooting my own horn but you think it looks good now wait until I get it painted! Oh and I do suggest getting one...these kit are fun as heck. Shaft driven 4WD and it's a Tamiya, need I say more? |

Shaft driven 4WD and its tamiya... Biggest complaint for that kit, the screws holding the rear and front "bumpers" strip out VERY easily, switch to fine thread asap. the shaft at higher speeds actually distorts and will run out of its nest in the chassis. You NEED the alum shaft to keep this from detonating |

I just finished taping it up. I'm about to go out and paint it and put the stickers on. She didn't want the white w/ blue stripes. The stripes are stickers so taping it up was a pain in the a$$! Pics coming. |

Looks alot better with the Mustang body on it. The HPI rims and tires will really make it. Nice and post the finished pics.

OK. So here is the finished product (Well kind of!). I still have a few more stickers to put on it and the rear bottom section is a piece all by itself so I have to put it on tape it up and paint it. I think it turned out pretty good and the wife loves it so that's all that matters! I shouldn't have taken such close ups b/c it shows all the little mistakes I made. Oh well, Itry to be perfect but that never happens! The first few pics are to show ya'll the agony I went thru taping up the stripes b/c if it were painted any other color that went with the blue stripes then it would've been a hell of a lot easier b/c the stripes are stickers. Oh and the colors are Tamiya PS Orange w/ PS Pearl White Stripes backed w/ Tamiya PS White. Pics:
