| as in TRUCK - crawler etc. check out the Axial Scorpian. ARTR (just add electrics) and is nicely priced. im thinking of getting one myself just to have fun building and use while i piece together the Super. there is also talk of Kyosho and possibly another company bring out crawlers but that could be months or even years away. alswo, have a look at the Wheely King from HPI. RTR but a bit most expensive than the Axial. |

Welcome to RCC!! Read up a bit, and figure out what class of "rig" you want. For 2.2 class, the Tlt (axles) is probably the most popular choice, However, the Axial AX10 kit is fast becoming very popular, and is a very good "rig" out of the box. IMO, it's the best choice for anyone just getting into crawling. For super class, the Clod buster axles are probably the most popular, but there are several choices. Spending the time to read up here a while, will save you from spending extra $ later on. P.S. you have a ton of OG crawlers in Co |

Im looking into getting started with a rockcrawler. Never had a rc before and I am mechanically inclined. I don't really understand the different classes. What I think I want is a full tube chassis with a bronco or jeep boddy. Can anyone help me with a product or distribuor with these rigs? I understand they are all heavily modified, but are they one and the same just different bodys or completely different kits?

The only "kit" right now is the AX10 Scorpion, all the others are just for the axles, and various parts, you have to piece together or fab up the rest of the truck from various other places. Check out the vendor section to see what is available for different kinds of trucks.

The two main classes run are super and 2.2. The 2.2 class is alot smaller then a super class. So if you have giant boulders around were you live that may not be the best choice. Then the super class is alot larger rigs that in my mind are alot more complicated. Check out the USRCCA rules and restrictions for each class located at the top of the "Compitition" forum as a sticky. Also look and read around. You will find 2.2 and Supers in the Clod forum, 2.2 in the Wheely King forum, 2.2 in the TLT forum, Supers in the Maxx forum, Supers in the X-Factor and Twin Force forum, and 2.2 in the AX-10 Scorpian forums. As for kits the only one I know of right now is the AX-10 kit. Other trucks are mainly used for axles and for the trannsmissions (if you have a shafty). As for the NN that would be considered a Super class rig. I would say for starters get an AX-10 kit or an HPI Wheely King 4X4 and stretch the wheel base. Have fun and welcome too RCC!
