I use advast (SP) I am work right now and can't quit remember what it is called but I know I am close. So far I have been happy with it. I got it from download.com I would go there now but the government putter will filter that out.

The best option for virus protection: Linux. If you're really paranoid, (I am) you can tweak your SELinux settings on top of that.
