| Interweb search help needed. (Rare car) ebay
My wifes grandfather wants me to try to sell his car online, maybe ebay? But I can't find any information at all online about this car. It's a really rare car. From what he tells me there are only about 24 of them known in the USA. This is all the info he wrote down for me... Make- Bergfalke Model Victoria 254 Year- 1958 Engine- 1 cylinder 2 stroke 75+ MPG Top for the car is stored in the trunk (front of car.) Here are some pics I scanned I still need to get an engine shot. All I can find about Bergfalke online is gliders. Any help would be greatly appreciated! It has a bicycle horn. LOL Totally sweet. My girlfriend has a thing for classic compacts. She really wants a Metropolitan. How much is he looking to get out of it? You may need to get it appraised then put it on eBay like you mentioned. Last edited by _BEN_; 11-26-2007 at 01:10 PM. |

Likely it's going to be a pain. I can't find anything about Bergfalke making any automobile let alone the Victoria model. Having it appraised will be hard because most appraisers now use the internet to find history and such...we are all at a loss. Your honest best bet might be contacting a high end auctioneer like Barret Jackson (http://www.barrett-jackson.com/) to have them help. This will not pull as high on ebay as with an auctioneer like Barret Jackson or similar. Those auctioneers tend to pull in big names and the most intricate collectors (Jay Leno comes to mind...). |

Do you have any more information on it. Like where were they made? Other possible models/trims made by Bergfalke. Maybe the glider company is the one that made the cars. Seek the advice of an antique auto appraiser. |

Contact the guys at Barret-Jackson. Some of them might have info for you, or point you elsewhere.

Hey there Bergfalke is German for Mountain falcon. This was a airplane (Gliders) manufacture in the time frame you refer to. Maybe this was a side project. (just like BMW used to make planes). Last edited by renoirbud; 11-26-2007 at 06:50 PM. |

Ahhh, the Metropolitan. I used to have 3 of those but ended up getting rid of them. Regretting it now. I still have a wrecked 61 and a spare engine. | |

Try contacting Hemmings Motor News, they may be able to shed some light on things. BTW, are you 100% sure about the spelling Bergfalke? |

honestly.. it looks like a kit car from a boat mfg... due to the lack of info on it.. you may not be able to get anything for it. but due to its uniqueness... that may help the price a little but high dollar collector cars are either a highly regaurded classic like a vette or something and or was owned by someone famous or was a piece of history somehow.. ie, Carol Shelby's person Cobra just went for something nutz like 2 million dollars.. All it takes is 2 eccentric weathly people fiting over it for you to make alot of money.. but honestly... does that car float? it looks like it would? |

I've also contacted a few auto appraisers in my area as well. I've always thought that it looked like it could float |
