Default McMaster-Carr Supply not shipping to Canadian individuals.

Just figured some newbie canadian crawlers guy/gals on here might find this useful.... OR... for our american buddies to the south of us that are helping newbies like us out in finding screws for their builds, you might find this information useful. I know I was helped by some long standing american members on here, so this is why im forwarding this along.

The other day I sent in an email request for a certain size / type of screw and was waiting on a reply ....

Thank you for your inquiry. Unfortunately, due to the ever increasing complexity of United States export regulations, McMaster-Carr can only process orders from a few long-established customers in Canada. We sincerely regret any inconvenience this causes you.

Thank you,

David Ulam
McMaster-Carr Supply Co

Makes total sense to me. Keep your long standing larger volume based customers and not worry about the small individuals screw orders.

Hope it helps someone out, if not .. then ummm sorry

Penguin RC has the screws I was looking for originally. It was for my Micro RS4 3500 LM chassis. Trying to save paying $30-40 for about 8-10 small arse screws.

M2.5 x 8 flat head self tappers.

I've posted wanted ad's on two local r/c webpages and someone might know of a more local source to me. If not, then I use the stock HPI one's. No biggie.

I got the same treatment, with the exact same letter. So I wrote back and asked to have my order shipped to my US mailbox instead so I could go bring it across myself. I got a letter back stating that they couldn't sell to me, knowing that the products were for eventual export from the US.

So... the next day I ordered the exact same order again, using the US address for my ship to destination and making no mention of Canada or export.. This time the order went through and I got my stuff... even though the billing address was Canadian.

Google process orders from a few long-established customers in Canada and you'll find lots of folks that have been denied lately.
