MRAP's are the best thing they have going right now. They seem to take hits better than the Abrams tank. Bad thing is they are'nt totally IED proof. A buddy of mine was in one that got hit. I forget how many people were with him at the time but he was the only one to survive. Messed him up pretty bad though he had a broken back, legs, ankles and ribs I think. Plus a fair amount of burns.

we have one at work that looks pretty close to that front end ripped out and all. you look inside and you can see that the hull stayed all together

Yeah they are a really good vehicle. When I was in the desert we didnt have them yet. In fact we didnt have anything up-armored. We had to roll around in soft skinned vehicles.
