We could attack a raffle from 2 different angles - 1) have a single item that anyone could use or 2) Offer 2 class specific rig upgrades. (1.9 and 2.2 "essential upgrade" items) Since most of us have upgraded to the hilt already, it may be beneficial to stick to something that could be utilized in either for general use to everyone. Examples being servo, motor/esc or batteries. Scale items are a great raffle option as few have them and we all want them. Drivers, roof racks, lights, accessory packs, winches, etc. If we stick to smaller items, it would keep the "Buy in" down allowing everyone a chance to participate. More expensive items increase the buy in simply because we have to recover the cost before adding to the coffer. Not sure what you have in mind just yet but perhaps if you want to do just one raffle, consider a scale accessory pack around 50$ in value with a 2$ per ticket buy in and no limit to ticket sales. Conversely, a nice servo @ double that price may warrant a slightly higher 4-5$ buy in with same "no limit" ticket sales. Just my 2 cent - I'm not good at this stuff but I'm great at BRAIN STORMING so that's what I'm doing. Let the Discussion begin! LOL |

That's what I'm thinking too. George and I have been brain storming some cool stuff as well for raffles. I'm donating an item to the club coffers for one of the first inner club raffles to members only. that will be well worth the membership of joining the club. And George is working on another very cool raffle for anyone to buy into. It's looking like nice weather for Sunday as of today. Hopefully we can get together this weekend for a crawl and discuss what the club has planned for April. Which will be when we are planning to Kik off a couple raffles. Unit719 any news on what soco rc crawlers can do for the wounded warrior program? Sent from space by aliens |

I have a bunch of hook ups with the wounded warriors so let me see if I can get a hold of them. I think that would be a great sponsor for us especially with all the vets using the hobby as stress relief with PTSD and such. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Attention all soco club members. The family crawl this weekend is going to be postponed to the weekend after next. It looks like the colorado winter series is coming to Palmer park this Sunday. They are doing a sporty comp and a new trail run, for those of you that are interested in joining in the fun or just want to come out and see what organized fun can be. Check out the colorado winter series thread under the colorado forum. Post up a like on this announcement if you plan on entering the comp.I'm thinkin maybe a BBQ for members that join the comp. I had servo issues last year when the winter series came through Palmer Park and since then I have spent a ton of time and money getting my Sporty ready for redemption. The day they those chose happens to be the same day we planned my little girls 6th bday party. I am hoping I can run a couple courses before I head off to the party. I am not sure what the trail rig comp will be like but I doubt it will be anything resembling a trail run. Sounds like a short course, mostly gates.

No worries. I got a ton of tennis balls and flags to make a nice long course. I left a message for 666 saying that I could help out with the trail set up. We will help make it a good time for all...!!! Sent from space by aliens |
