Default New Indoor Crawl spot in Grand Junction

Just spent this afternoon over at High Desert Raceway in GJ crawling on their new indoor course. It's a blast, especially since your indoors and warm!! I had the berg, the Wreckluse, the MRC Campbell buggy, and the new Axial SCX-10 on it for a couple hours. All of them are equally fun and challenging. Even the berg found plenty of lines that were super difficult and some that I haven't pulled off yet.

I didn't measure it, but I'd say it's about 10'x12'.

Yeah, I'm going to have one at my house now.

It's super simple to make. Just layered 2" sheets of Styrofoam cut out to give the basic shapes. Then carved out with wire bushes and a little bit of acetone to give different effects and then bedlinered with tinted Line-X. They said the total cost was about $1200 and $900 of that was in bedliner. I'm want to pick up the SEM bedliner kit from Eastwood or the local auto body shop for about $150 and do it my self. The SEM diy kit turns out exactly like Rhino Liner and not crappy like all of the rest of the diy kits available and should work great, plus it's tintable. The total should only be a couple hundred bucks, not bad.

No, the SCX-10 wasn't mine, it was a friends. I just drove it for like an hour on the course. That thing is ridiculously capable though. I was blow away by how well it performed and the lines it was pulling of for a scaler, especially a 1.9. I just might end up with one now.

Had our first Friday night comp there tonight. Really good turn out for this thing only being finished a couple days ago. There were 12 drivers and about 15-20 spectators throughout the night. I'll try and get the scores posted on here once they are tallied. Anyone in the area or driving through on a friday night should stop by, every Friday at 6pm there will be a comp and everyday its open to goof around on.
