Default Goodbye to clear lexan...ready for the next Friday night in Aurora

It was good seein' everyone again on Friday night and getting out got me excited about it again. I spent half he day starting the machine work on my second Berg and the rest of the day was spent on throwing a little paint on the lexan in prep for the next time I run...72' body needs flames no? This was my first time using the airbrush. Mixed a really dark pearl purple for the base and stuck with simple flames this time. I'd like to bring in a few more colors next time but may need a better airbrush to get a finer pattern. Other than my limitation on the pattern, the airbrushing wasn't as difficult as the masking. Do people actually practice the masking part?!?

I need to try one with liquid mask. I think that would allow me to do some really crazy stuff. I've always been a huge fan of flames and the true style flames done by Mile Lovelle...which I do realize I'm a long ways away from doing anything even close to what he does. Check out some of his stuff -->

More can be found here: http://www.killerpaint.com

So now I need to get some liquid mask and try it out!

i can airbrush REAL FLAMES for you on lexan, its all in stensils to get crisp lines, youll be hard pressed to drop a fine line strait from an airbrush, i finally figured out how to reverse step the real flame design, ive been airbrusjing off and on for 15 yrs, lexan bodies are challenging but im getn them done pretty good now.. messege me if youde like.. im practicing daily, i have three designs, its mostly honing ur skill and stensiling clean lines.., and i hate stebsiling but its a nessesity for an aspect as this, just stensil certain corners, not all them..

with the real flames they just cut out a bunch of random shapes. if you were to cut small stencils like the big ones, then you can liquid mask the parts you dont want to paint and use the stencils for your perfect real flames!
