Default The 1st ever Colorado Supers only comp, scores and pics!!

Well we all got together July 3rd 2010, for the first Colorado Supers Only comp at the Coal Creek location. It was a great group, fun times, good day to be out driving the big dogs!!

We tried different approach with this comp, we ran 6 courses 5-7 minutes long, up average 10 gates, ended up being a endurance test seeing whose crawler would last!!

Scores:

1*Almighty Casey 129
2*Joystick 140
3*666 157
4*Hoppa 163
5*Sparkly Jewels 170
6*Rubbaneck 170
7*OG Kris 180
8*Skidplate 188
9*Mr Glassman 227

I got quite a few pics, I will get them up as soon as I can!

Thanks guys!!

Great time guys. I haven't seen breakage like this for a long time I myself burnt up some servos. It was kinda nice to run without rear steer for the last 2 courses. Got some much needed practice with the dig.
We all missed you Pickles, just wasn't the same running Supers without you

Thanks Jeff for the pics.

I've been dying to know why it seems like the main purpose of a super comp is to destroy them? Almost every course i've seen for supers looks like it was picked to test the strength of the crawler instead of the ability for it to crawl. Things like crazy gaps to jump over and what not. I guess I just notice it more with the supers, the 2.2's and 1.9's don't seem that way, I get it that the supers being so big need more challenging terrain but damn Am I the only one thinking this way lol?? I don't have one this is just an observation i've had.

Courses aren't set to "destroy" the rigs and I don't think we've ever had a course where "jumping" was needed. Supers are bigger and heavier than a 2.2 and in turn harder on parts. Alot of the breakage your reading about is servos, it's why I don't run 2.2 servos on my super. Build a Super and you'll understand, plus they are way more fun than a 2.2.

X2

I think driving supers are the most fun.

The only thing I've had issues with, on the two supers I've had, are the servo's trying to turn the big tires. I've smoked two 7950 TH, set at 7.4 volts. Hitec did send me new ones. I haven't had any problems now that I run two servo's on the front.
