| Crawl Space Colorado Scale Series 2013/14
Here is the official thread for the Colorado Scale Series 2013/14 Events dates: 10.13.13 -#1. Buffalo Creek. 11.03.13 -#2. Location: Daniels Park. 01.26.14 -#3. Location: Sand Creek comp spot. 02.23.14 -#4. Location: Lutz comp spot. 58th. Ave and Kipling. Arvada. 03.23.14 - $5. Location: Red Rocks comp spot 05.18.14 -#6. Location: Palmer Park. Colorado Springs. PL-12. We will be using SORCCA rules and vehicle class guidelines for this event which can be found here. Scale Comp Course Design A competition will consist of 3-5 seperate courses for each class. A course will comprise of 10-15 gates with a minimum of 5 minutes time for completion per course. A gate will be marked with at least 2 gate markers spaced a minimum of 16 inches apart. Arrows on the gate markers or chalk marks will denote the direction or progress through the gate. All vehicles must fall into SORCCA technical guidelines for classes 1, 2 and 3. Scale Points. All vehicles must be teched and scale points tallied by yourself prior to the start of an event. If you questions about scale points or how to tally scale points, post up here or stop by the shop the week before the event and we will help you out. Scale points however have nothing to do with vehicle legality, just the bonus points you will receive for the scale details of each truck you enter. Vehicles will be teched at the beginning of the day for class legality. Class 1 and Class 2 trucks will use the same courses, class 3 trucks will have separate courses. Series Points. -This will be a points series, 1st place will receive 100 points, 2nd. 99 points, 3rd. 98 and so on. -Driver with the best score on each course will get 1 bonus point. -There will be one "drop" for the series, ie; a drivers lowest comp score will be drop from his/her total score for the series. Please post up if you have any questions, comments or concerns Last edited by The Crawl Space; 05-08-2014 at 01:38 PM. |

Rules.-We've streamlined the rules and judging to hopefully make it easier for everyone to understand and help judge to move the day along. If you have ever judged at a SORCCA style scale event you can help judge at the TTC . Numero Uno Rule #1 Have fun! This is the ultimate test of man and scale machine and its all about a good time. Drivers are encouraged to help other participants with course direction, winching, etc. No hand of god. Trucks must be righted under their own power or winched to progress through the course. Winching: Vehicles may use onboard winches. No penalty will incur. Judges will watch to make sure that only the winch/vehicle cause movement of the vehicle. Any movement brought on by the driver will result in the stopping of the run (you will be scored where the clock is stopped). Winches may be used to “unstuck” a vehicle or right a rolled vehicle. They may also be used to stabilize a vehicle during a climb. -Recovery tools must be carried on rig and then placed back on rig after each use. ie. pullpal, tow strap. Dig/rear steer: Class 3 rigs equipped with dig and/or rear steer use them at any time on course and no penalty will incur. Repairs: On course repairs are not allowed. After your repair is done, you move to next course to move the day along. If you can't repair your rig you will get a DNF for any and all courses not finished. Points: A Reverse on course, such as the Rubicon, Obstacle Course, Frame Twister and Tank Trap will incur a +1 point penalty. A gate touch on course, such as the Rubicon, Obstacle Course, Frame Twister and Tank Trap will incur a +10 point penalty. DNF (Did Not Finish) +50 point penalty. DNFs are given anytime a driver cannot complete a course for any reason, course time expired, incurred 50 penalties points, truck breaks before completing the course. Drivers may choose to skip a course and take a DNS (+60 point penalty.) for the skipped course. Typical Events: Hill Climb, Sled Pull, Mud Bog, Mini Rubicon, Obstacle course and Tank Trap. Courses are judged on time allowed per course and distance travelled Hill Climb, Sled Pull and Mud Bog courses will be judged on gates progressed with no reverses or gates allowed, drivers will have two attempts with a best of final score for the course. Time will stop once the truck has stopped making forward progess, has hit a gate or Out Of Bounds maker during a run and the driver will receive appropriate points for the last gate progressed on course. Rubicon, Obstacle Course, Frame Twister and Tank Trap courses will be judged on gates progressed with reverse and gate penalties calculated against the drivers score within the alotted time for the course. A driver will receive a +50 penalty once time runs out before the driver finishes the course or driver incurs 50 penalty points on course. Scoring: Gates progressed and penalties incurred will be calculated for each specific course. A total for all courses will be tallied and scale points will be subtracted from the overall score for your total score of the day. Event scoring: Lowest score wins. In the event of a tie, there will be a tug of war between the two drivers with a best of 2 out of 3 tries. Last edited by The Crawl Space; 02-15-2014 at 08:42 AM. |
