| Why cant I search?
Most sections don't even have a search button for me?. There is a search button in the vendors section b/c I tried searching for something but it said I didn't have permission?

Same here, only thing I can think of is that my star expired yesterday but I don't remember not being able to do searches before I bought it....

| Part of searching. Sorry guys the new influx of people is really draining the site and it takes money which is hard to come by to make it better. So to keep things flowing efficiently some features may be shut down from time to time until money grows on trees! |

We have been running into some huge loads over the last few days. We have a new server being built that should fix the problem, however in the meantime we have made a few changes to be easier on the server. One of those things is we have disabled search for non supporting members. We try to turn it on during the daytime and just turn it off during peak usage, but sometimes it has to stay off. I know this is a pain in the ass, but we are working on a more long term solution. |

Sweet good to know, thanks jason. Also for you guys who are clueless on how to find a question rather than making a new topic, search the key word(s) on google and put rccrawler in it. it will sometimes find a thread and be near the top of your results. But you should buy a star (and so should i) so you can use the search on here Last edited by dirk379; 10-23-2008 at 06:10 PM. |

No problem. I'm not complaining I was just curious if it was permanent or not. Forums to me always seem like a never ending cycle. If it is not bandwith it is server load. Now where did I put that money tree? :-P |

I am a relative newbie, have visited this forum almost daily for over a year and have no idea what a star is or how you go about buying one. I would definately buy one to help fund continuous improvement for the site. I have gotten alot of useful info from here and would like to be able to continue searching for it rather than asking.
