Default Avatar File Limits

I've grown a bit tired of my current avatar and would like to use a new one... but am finding it very hard to keep it under the 5kb limit with anything more than like 3 colors. Is there anyway we can adjust the file limit to like 10kb?

Pwetty Pwease?

ps - avatar I want to use ->

When you save the file, use Save for Web.
When the screen pops up you can adjust the size with the slide bar. Look below the image and it will show you what the size will be when saved...

You can also pick from gif or jpeg... depending on the requirements...

A lot of times the GIF will be a smaller file size if you don't have many colors, as it can get rid of shading and such. It doens't have to have color info imbedded for every pixel like a jpg does.

Yeah... I was doing that, but getting it under the limit made the image look like crap. Way too much noise in it.

But all is well now.... until next time. lol

As slowrockr said, your star depends on what size you can upload.

Green you get 100X100 5kb
Gold you get 150X150 20kb
Blue you get 150X150 260kb

I can probably do the pic to the right size kb and pixels you want, just PM me.
