| why can't i play videos?
someone please help me.when i download a video,it downloads and attempts to play,but says "error down loading codec"then a message pos up saying"class not registered".how do i fix this?

What operating system are you running? And which video are you trying to view? |

i have windows 98 and i've tried 4 or 5 different videos.i've uninstalled and reinstalled media player with no change.i am grateful for any help.

Many of the videos require Media Player 9, I dont know if there is a version available for W98 or not. I had WMP7 and had to upgrade. For videos requiring Quicktime (ending in .mov ususally) I have trouble even with the latest player. Here's what I do: 1) Right click and "save as" the video. 2) After it is done saving, go to the file using Windows Explorer or "My Computer". 3) Right click on the file and under the pop up menu choose "open with" and then "Internet Explorer". I think Badger told me how to do that. |
