Default For Sale section needs CATEGORIES!

How hard would it be to do this? Right now the for sale section really sucks. Everything for sale just gets drowned out with a bunch of crap that your not looking for. Please consider this.

For Sale Section

Crawlers/Scalers: rtr's, kits, rollers etc. New & Used

Electronics: motors,radios,rx,tx,esc, bec etc.

Parts/accessories: non electronic parts, factory/aftermarket parts, hop-ups, wheels, etc

Non-Crawler: everything non crawler/scaler related

^^^ even something as simple as this would be a great help^^^

What does everyone else think?

You're absolutly right I find it a total waste of time, and don't even get me started on the added stress of risking carpal tunnel clicking through the 10's of ads the get posted daily. And I HATE that little pop up window the gives a short preview if what's inside the ad.

^^^ seriously. I'm trying to look for another scx10 or a wraith but having to sifting through so much shit gets old. Most small local forums have the for sale section like this. There is not so bad. I've never seen a forum this big have such a bad for sale section.

I paid $20 to see that section and was extremely disappointed...

Although I agree it might make things look better, you would make more work for me when I just like to see what's for sale.

Leave it as is and save the Mods more work than they already do to make this a great site.

I think everyone should just be a little more specific in there Title, try to simply state what they are selling.

Also agreed. However both could exist. Ex, craigslist - you can view "all for sale" or choose category.
But, heh it doesn't bother me much how it is.. :banghead:

I don't have a problem with it as I like to scan all the adds to see what bargains I can pic up.

Same here. Sometimes I get great deals on things I don't need or really want but had to get cuz..well..it's a darn good deal. Sometimes I find something similar to my item but better and better price.
Imo...the classifieds is like a box of chocolates...

Come on people...You guys could still browse/scan all ads if we had category's. it would just make it easier for people looking for specific things.

I suggest trying the "Wanted" section (it's just below the "For Sale" section on the Classifieds main page). That section is also included in your generous $20 membership. Simply post what you are looking for and the sellers come to you. But, I must warn you, you will have to sift through some BS because people are people.

Search on...

People complained in the past wanting the section split up so we tried it, once we did it we got non stop complaints, everyone hated it, including the people who wanted it so we changed it back.

The individual sections was terrible. I actually liked the vendors section better when I it was combined as well. Made it easier to see all the new stuff!

What does everyone else think?

That is all accomplished with the SEARCH function... ADVANCED SEARCH works even better

Even with the separate categories you speak of there is always human error or just plain oversight that things end up listed in the wrong sections. But with a person using the SEARCH function, the only chance of possible error and frustration would be self-inflicted.

Huh!.... What a novel idea!!
You mean "Weekend Sale", "Parts", " Garage Sale". etc... for thread titles doesn't work well for you either???

I hate to be repetitive, but you can not get much more specific then using the SEARCH function. Type what you are looking for in "Quotations" in the search block and enjoy the RCC goodness

I agree about the titles being more clear... I like:
scx10 axles, VP chubs & knuckles, br-xl, etc.

better than:
bench cleaning sale
or
paypal funding sale.

Yeah, and then if you have more items than space in the title bar.. You pick your best items and add "+more"
