| Classified Section Concerns
I am concerned that it seems many of the people in this section are under age. (18 legal age) Is it illegal for an adult to enter into a business deal with a minor. And shouldn't there be an age requirement before being able to do business in this section. Which would give you legal deals on both ends. If you get ripped off by a minor there may not be any action to take against them, since your not to do business with minors. Can anyone clarify this for me? Thanks

I understand where your coming from on this, but there are many young people on here(myself included) that have had many good deals go down. So i dont think it would be a good idea. Also if the seller/buyer didnt want to deal with a minor than they have the freedom to do so.

It is legal to enter into a contractual agreement between a major and a minor, but the contract is not legally binding. You are correct, as an adult that gets screwed in a contract with a minor, there is no recourse against them, since there was no legal contract to begin with. And yes, from what I have witnessed on this forum, most of the bad transactions have included minors that wouldn't stand up to there end of the deal.

Understandable concerns but how would the admin go about varifying the age of a member?

Yes, that is what I was trying to say. I think deals with minors are illegal. At least that is what I was always told. You have no legal recourse against them. I think it's a legal question and surely someone on here is astute in the legalities of this matter. Minors using Pay-pal as well???? Maybe reason some request money orders only??? Touchy subject for sure. Thats why I posted the question.

I didn't read one time where JIA's dad said YOU were a bad guy to deal with. I think YOU need to hold your horses. He's looking out for everyone here. I completely agree with him.

Law says 18 is legal age. I'm just looking for clearification. Never said anyone was bad. But If you feel guilty, then get a complex about it.

Look at ultimate RC, they are legal freaks. And they let 13+ age limit for the classifieds. Just my thoughts!

I think Mr. JIA's dad is saying he personally has a problem with it in general. Not with anyone in particullar. It is his right to do business with whomever he choses. He is just wanting clarification in general.

Sounds like he wants all under the age of 18 to be "banned" from the classifieds til we reach the legal age.
