Default wait between searches

I am not sure I am just imagining it or not, but did the time between searches get longer?

I'm sure they updated the forum software and this was part of the deal. The site was down for a while the other night.

This is typically done to help lower bandwith, which I'm sure this site is pulling a ton of.

I seem to be lucky in Google and RCCrawler searches, 1 search and have enough info, just think about what you search for and keep it simple.

i dont think holding back a few searches is going to hamper bandwidth that much.
should those that pay money to this site have to wait 30 seconds between searches?

15 seconds was bad enough some times... 30 seconds is really going to suck.

I have noticed this also it is kind of frusterating at times especially with everyone preaching about using the search function and it won't let you but oh well.

No and no. The site was down for about 4-5 minutes the other night, I didn't realize that was a "while".

I set the wait time in between searches to 30 seconds to as test to if it changes the server loads at peak hours.

Is 15 seconds really that long? I've know of several boards that are set to 60 seconds.

Wrong. Searches on a forum are CPU and database intensive more then anything else.

when i am on rcc... especially when i am searching for info... i usually have 2 tabs open in firefox... i use one to search and one that i browse builds and other stuff... that way if i have to wait ( OH NO!!) i can still make use of my time in stead of sittin here countin...until i can hit search again...

Open beer, click search, take drink of said beer, scratch body part, take another drink, RCC tells me what I want to know. If I have to wait 30 seconds I take another drink.

People complain about the weirdest things on RCC. 30 seconds, for real people, 30 seconds between searches..... yet you'll spend 2-3 hours looking at nothing on here each day. Odd. You don't complain about wasting hours upon hours staring at the stupid computer wasting your life.

PS... I have a hangover from all that searching last night.
