Ky idea/rule revision post thing, October get-togeather?

Yep I'm way early with this one but I would like to hear some of the guys who might participate thought's.


Firstly Where, Green river again or does someone have a place that might ease the drive for a few or even offer some better crawling? I personaly like Green River because of the variety and kinda central location but then again I live 10 minutes away from it so it's not really fare for me to say "it's gonna happen HERE!." Also if some of you guys know of a better place in like TN, VA ect. speak up.

Secondly When? Jason sudgested some time in the spring and again in the fall (biyearly) so that the # of people who show up stays high and the people who drive 7 hours dont have to pick and choose which event to attend. So going off that we're looking at a spring event at the soonest. My thoughts are, do one in early April (after the kiddo's get out of school) and one in early October but again I'm not the only person here so any thoughts are welcome.

Thirdly The rules we used last time where somewhat lax in that alot of the scoreing was 'voted' on in the middle of the competition. For instance, myself and 4XADICT both had drive shaft problems that we fixxed in the middle of the run but when Jason's front pinion fell off he ended his run because he had no idea he could fix it so we ended up doing a best of 2 runs then another course. So perhaps a new set of rules are in order? Or maybe we should just leave them alone or even modify them. I would like to see a more strict rollover rule to kill the self righting (that I did alot of ) that happened last time.


I'm mostly trying to gather a few opinions, the last event was alot of fun and I think with a little work we can have something really big going really fast.....

yeah, I think the rules might need to be looked at. I think I'd have done better points wise if I actually skipped gates instead of making attempts and rolling. I've never competed in a comp, but that seems odd.

I think the Oregon gays have some pretty good rules.

I'm up for another meet at Green River. I like the fact that you can walk right around the point and find a different type of rock.

50 points for gate - Must DRIVE three wheels through gate in line with boundary offence guidelines. Gates will be line rather than dot. No drive, no points.

100 points for optional bonus gate- gate should be set up after the corse has been run by all competitors for those who wish to attempt it. All four wheels must be driven through the gate and you are only alowed one attempt. If the driver fails there will be a 50 point reduction from there finnal score.

-25 points for a rollover - Complete rollover or requiring reposition. Reposition to be done by marshall where the truck lays. If truck falls on side and cannot use at least three of it's wheels for movement it is deemed a rollover

-25 points for reposition - Marshall to reposition truck within truck length. Gate Points CANNOT be gained for reposition through obstacle/gate.

-50 points for skipping a gate - If demed neccesary by the driver and only the driver the marshall will move the truck directly in front of the gate that was previously skipped

-10 points for repair-in the event that the truck breaks the driver may ether finnish driving the corse with the breakage or he/she may repair the truck for the 10 point penalty, repairs should be done quickly and if they excede 5 minutes the driver will be forced to forfit the run.


I just took some of the Aussie rules and modded/added to them, I really think there should be one person at the event who does all of the judgeing and doesn't compete to keep things even. Also I ddin't even bother to cover the tire size and gate width type issues because I was keeping them as universal as possible.

Another thing I wanted to mention was doing a get-togeather sometime in October at Green river, nothing big as I know alot of you guys couldnt make it but it would give the guys in the states around KY that couldn't make it last time something to come to this year......

The rules look good, stern and thats good. Makes you focus on smart driveing, and we all know that good equipment will only take you so far.

Oct?? Sounds good, plenty of time to save gas money.

The rules look good to me. I've looked around my area for crawlin' spots but haven't found anything as cool as Green River.

What about having a few different classes of trucks like the real comps do? Like stock, super stock, pro class, or divide them by wheelbase or width and setup different lines or obstacles.

Okay so date wise we're kinda limmited, the weekend of the 9-10th is during the NRCTPA Worlds so that's deffinately something to plan around. How does the 17th sound to you guys?

17th is ok, any way we could maybe do this one on a Sat this time. If not thats cool, I`m out of vac days till Jan. I can still do it just makes it easiere if I take Mon off. Figure out the date and I`ll show up.

Yeah I'm cool with doing it on the 16th insteed of the 17th. Doesnt really make much of a difference to me
