Also the points series has nothing to do with nationals other than picking the top 5 for the run off with ETRC. You should come out, it will be fun.

I think he said that sponsered drivers HAVE to take the pro line. Everyone can take the pro line if wanted. Only the pro line counts toward series points, therefor only the people that take the proline can get a chance at nationals.

I am just thinking of the new guys, I know its no fun to point out, but I also don't want the top guys to get rusty by running easy courses either. I figure this is the best of both worlds without having to make separate courses for both classes. We have taken a lot of pride in making very difficult courses over the years, a little too much I am afraid. Looking back on things I think we have discouraged a lot of people from competing because they drive 2 hours or more only to get to drive for 4 gates all day.

Joe and I will see to it that the first 5 gates are very doable by anyone, after that the last 5 will be harder for the Amateur class, and borderline brutal for the Pro's....... Also I don't see the harm in a Pro driver pre-running the last 5 for the Amateurs just to make sure something isn't harder than it looks. I want to get all the courses pre-ran by someone. We can find someone who isn't in a class and I will have an extra rig that they can pre-run with, of course I, or who ever owns the truck will not be allowed to watch or make adjustments.

Especially when those new guys have to drive for hours to attend then pay $50 or more dollars to run said gates.

Funny how DIS is lowering ticket prices for events but the price to enter a crawling comp continues to climb.

Less gates + shorter courses + shorter time limits for courses = more competitors in a day.

More competitors = more money

Kudos for trying to bring more people into the mix and still have courses with a good number of gates.

No, only PRO drivers have a chance at Nats.....thats what Nats is for.....best of the best. It has nothing to do with sponsorship.

But anyone can run pro and do good enough in the series to go to the run-offs for nats.

Correct, its to keep the obviously good drivers from making a run in amateur.
