Default Leaf spring only competition ?????

What do you guys think about having a comp for the leaf sprung crowd? Since more and more people are building mountaineers and bruisers why not have some fun with them. No shelf queens allowed.

I think it will be fun. If we are gona have a comp I think there are some guys that have scale rigs that like my tuber that could be included. It is not a great crawler but it would be fun to include. The deal would be full body rigs with wheels under the wheel wells in stock to the body position. That way we could have a bigger turn out. Slinkys tuber would not included it works too dam good!

Well I need some time to find a new front axle for my bruiser. I was taking the geolander tires off the rims and while I was rotating the front wheel with my hand I guess I had the rear ones bound up in my jacket. I twisted hard enough to break the front axle. Ooops!

I will find one on ebay and have it running again.

well we can do the comp along with other rigs. but I think the only limitation should be leaf's on all corners. I will keep the bed for now but I'll eventually extend the wheelbase a bit and ditch the bed. I mean how can I have a mounty without one of my flatbeds?

What about a true trail ride instead of a competition? One where you go places that even a setup crawler cannot go without winch and use of other vehicles. You keep the "realism" fun without a competition. I know I had a blast on my first trail ride. Probably the best outing I have had too.

I am not going to have the Hilux finished for a while I want to enjoy the build and If we need to do a trail run soon like new years (the 7 and 8 of Jan are all ready full) I can bring another rig.

I really like the idea.. I actually thought about it when I played with my "how stupid is this" thread... and I have a truck that I will be building using some juggy leafs (at least thats what I thought I was gonna use)..

The other day i was at Betts truck parts. These guys make A LOT of leaf springs for many applications, including All Pros (1:1) leaf springs.. i asked them if it was possible to make 1/10th size leaf springs in a veriety of lengths and stiffnesses. They said they have done it and can do it... So there may be quite a few choices of leaf springs coming soon..

I just love the look of these trail rigs.. The more realistic the better.. and them bruser/mountaineer build ups are the coolest thing ever IMO..

I want in on this one..

ya give him a jingle.. the guy that made me some parts, said they did it before.. I know they can do it, I was just hoping to keep the price down...

but just like the formula toyota crawling class (1:1) I belive this is a great thing for the RC world... These toyota trail rigs that are built on here are just the greatest eye candy ever.... maybe cause I am a toyota freek..
