| * Top Truck Challenge Entry Thread * This IS the thread to post up detailed pics of YOUR entry. You must be entered in one of the other two classes in order to be considered for the TTC, but your rig does not have to be in those classes, it can be a separate build. Please only enter if you are TRULY serious about competing in this event. This is a VOTE IN only event, so we do not want a bunch of trucks in here that are just posting to have their pics up. Only 10 vehicles will be allowed to compete in the TTC, and will be voted in by the members of RCCRAWLER , the deadline for entries is May 1st 2010 at 12 noon. The voting will start on May 3rd at 8am and close at 5pm on May 7th, the top 10 rigs with the most votes go to the event to compete. We will have 2 alternates as well incase of a difficulty for a competitor to attend. Once the votes have been tallied, we will post up the TOP 10 trucks and those people will receive a paypal invoice from us for the entry fee for the TTC. Please READ all of the rules and make sure YOUR entry is legal. Rules for POSTING YOUR RIG. You must have a side view, front view, rear view and belly view of your truck. You should list all specs that will gain you votes to get in. Remember, you want to have the most votes at the end of this! Event rules are in this thread. * Top Truck Challenge Sunday Info * Let's see all of those awesome TTC builds, let's get fired up for this EPIC EVENT! |

Guido was built in 2007 as a Top Truck Challenge scale build and has evolved over the years to perform and look better. Guido finished 3rd place at the Colorado Top Truck Challenge in 2009, finished 3rd in the 2.2 class driving event at the MSD/Tamiya Scale Nationals in 2008, and won the concours award for most realistic build at Scale Nationals in 2007 and 2008. At the 2010 Colorado Scale series first event on 3/28/2010 I ran Guido with the suspension changes and finished 4th after a driveshaft failure on one course. It would have been a 2nd place finish. This is a dual purpose rig designed to merge concourse award scale looks and performance at the highest level possible. If given the chance to compete I will push Guido as hard as necessary to win with no concern for breakage or damage. This is no shelf rig and is 100% built by me so I can fix anything that gets damaged. Upgrades are in progress to make Guido lower, longer, lighter, and stronger in preparation for this event. I appreciate the chance to put on a show for you and hope you vote for Guido. As progress continues on the rebuild I will post more specs and current photos before the voting deadline. Looks like I better get into this thing too. My EB was built approximately a year ago for the 2009 Montana Scale Nationals. It has been through many colors and modifications in the last year, and is currently torn down to the frame and being improved for the Scale nationals in May. I competed in the ORCRC TTC and finished in 4th place....3 points off of 1st. This truck is also the current Oregon 2.2 scale class champion and finished 1st in points for the entire 2009 season. I too will pull out all the stops to become the 2010 Montana TTC champion. This truck will be ready, and I would appreciate being able to compete against the top scale trucks in the nation. Specs: Custom tube chassis All steel body panels Built axial axles with super 300 cvds, overdriven front gears, all aluminum upgrades. Axial transmission with custom motor mount 10t Holmes Hobby puller Big D Fabrications transfer case Tekin FXR ESC Futaba 9157 steering servo Hitec 7955 servo winch Thunder Power Pro 1800mah 3-cell lipo Create-a-Crawler EZ lock wheels with Big D Fab aluminum outer rings Custom aluminum disc brake wheel spacers by me RC4WD 2.2 Rok Lox tires 3 watt Cree high intensity headlights More updates as they become available..... Thanks for looking, Tim. |

I'm totally stoked for this event and am building this rig, just for the Top Truck Challenge. I will also run it in the Trail class, but Top Truck will be it's focus. As many of the others have promised, I too will take this rig to it's max, holding nothing back. I'll push it until it either finishes or breaks trying This will be my first Top Truck Challenge and so I have nothing to loose. I'm 100% committed to showing everyone a great time with this beast!!!! I still have a few things to wrap up with the rig, but she's 90% there. I wanna play! I built the S10 truggy last year for my 2.2 class rig for 2009 MSD Scale Nationals. This rig was featured on Extreme 4x4, and it won W.Pa.C.'s Tough Truck Challenge. It is currently being overhauled for MSD's 2010 trail class and hopefully TTC. If given the honor I will push this truck to the limit. Build thread: Extreme 4x4 S10 Truggy Bashing at Ohiopyle. Here it is, in running order. Actually got it running in time for the TTC entry deadline. It's not finished yet, I will be adding LED's, waterproofing, dialing in the suspension and moving things around a bit for better weight distribution. Guaranteed to be an exciting vehicle to watch (if you have'nt seen me drive before). Wouldn't be a true TTC without at least one Canadian entry This is my TJ lowrider build: TJ low-rider - 2010 Scale Nats Trail rig build . I built this with the intention of being scale, but also with being as tough as possible. I run my trucks hard and put them away wet . So far, this truck has held up to all sorts of abuse from numerous people (including my 6y.o. who drives, well, like a 6y.o. ). I've already been running it in the mud, water and snow, and that was before waterproofing. For Montana, I'll be bringing along spare everything (axles, electronics, etc.) to prepare for any mayhem . And to show that I'm not afraid to get it dirty http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tbczbHrumt4 Specs: Chassis, body and armour:
Wheels, tires and suspension:
Axles and drivetrain:
Electronics:
Other:
I think that's everything . As with everyone else, I'll likely be doing modifications to this rig until the last minute. Thanks for your consideration, and hopefully your vote Last edited by ecoli; 05-02-2010 at 04:39 PM. Reason: Updated pics |
