I've been bustin' my nuts to make this happen, here's the way it is right now...

I spoke with Mark Patey, the president of UROC. He's all for the idea of having a RC Crawling comp in conjunction with a 1:1 comp. It would be killer exposure for both hobbies.

As of now it seems as if RC Driver and UROC will be working together this spring to bring 1:1 crawling and RC crawling together.

Anyway, as of now the dates will most likely be in the Spring, March 3rd-5th timeframe.

So, who's down with the sickness?

I think Mark saw me running my RC truck on some of the obsticals at SCIII.

We... UTRCRC have spoken to Mark also. Kaetwo actually went to high school with the Pateys. It's a great idea. We have been meaning to go down to the UROC office and talk things over. Now that the UROC season is over it will be a great time to get plans rolling.

Oh and Jason...Anything we (me and Kaetwo) can do to help furthur this, since we are local, just let us know. email, PM us or what ever info@utrcrc.com

Give it about 2 more weeks before you guys all start bugging UROC. They are really busy getting everything ready for the SEMA show Nov 2-5.

OH yeah.. no problem... we first talked to Mark way back in MAy or someting like that... We have just held off until the season is over before we bugged him again. We cross paths here locally and we talk about stopping by the office. I forgot about sema. That can be as mad as a whole season of comps...

Yeah, I've had this idea for a while now.

Emailed him Friday, he responded on Sat, told me to call him.

I called him yesterday, he was in a meeting discussing SEMA...but still talked. I guess you can do that when you're the Pres.

Wanted me to bring some crawlers to the SEMA show...they're going to have a 60,000 sq ft booth.

Although I can't make SEMA our (RC Driver's) Executive Editor, Greg Vogel, will be there all week.

Pinchy and Kaetwo, Thanks! I was hoping you guys would come on board. The lack of response had me scared there for a while.

Having someone that's local to the area, knows what we need, and can work with Mark will be crucial to making this thing go smoothly.

As of now there are only temporary dates, the 3rd-5th of March. That's the first of the UROC Pro Rock series, and a location hasn't been determined.

Anyway, that's the deal for now. It's still waaaay early, but that's what I know.

I just wanted to get information out so we can get the word out and people can plan for it.

I'd like to make this a yearly thing.

Hey, I just found this post.

You know I am in. If someone can get me an invite to SEMA I will pay my own way to get there and have my rig there. Or if Jason or Jason would like me to mail my truck so they can take it I am down with that. I would love to do what I can to promote the sport.

As far as a comp goes at the UROC event, I am in. I will drive, fly, or walk wherever it is. Just keep me informed.

Of course I am down with this idea. Too bad my buddy's company kinda tanked/got put on hold... We coulda had SEMA both space. He was there last year and said it was just an incredable time!

If you guys want real truck, and not one of those poser super dukes, let me know

Well, I edited the post last night....

Originally there was only info asking who would be up for a March 3rd-5th crawl out west.

I didn't give specifics because I hadn't talked to Mark and Greg yet.

But yeah, should be a heckuva time...great exposure for everyone involved.

I'd love to make it an annual thing in conjunction with the first UROC Pro Rock event of the year, it'd be something where we could all make plans well in advance.

I will be at SEMA, we will be debuting our newest 1:1 crawler at the Moser Engineering booth.

I am not going to take my RCCrawler, if you've ever been to the SEMA show, you'd understand why.

I am good friends with Mark Patey, had dinner with him, his wife, and Ranch Pratt the other night. Jason if you have any other details, send me an email at jason@carnagecrew.com I will make sure to talk to Mark about this while at SEMA.
