| 801RCC 2010 Comp, Event #7 "Descent into Darkness" 801RCC 2010 Comp, Event #7 "Descent into Darkness" This is the 4th annual "Descent into Darkness". If you ask anyone in Utah "what's the best crawl'n comp to attend in the state", this is it!! With 801RCC's Point Series all finished up we can relax a bit and just compete for fun (as it always should be) You have a great crawling location, great camping location, great trophies, and great people. "Descent into Darkness" is the most talked about comp in the state and more people look forward to this comp than any other. -when- July 10th 2010 -7/10/10- 2:00pm Course setup 2:45pm Pics and drivers meeting 3:00pm Competition starts -where- "Little Moab" NAME: Little Moab LOCATION: Elberta Ut TERRAIN: White slickrock/sand TRACTION: Varies med to high This comp runs a little different than most comps. We'll be running 3 courses starting at 3pm and another 2 courses after dark (hope to start night courses about 10ish) During the the last 2 courses each driver will be allowed 1 head lamp (if they choose) all other lights must be mounted to the competing rig. We will have a trophy's for the top 3 drivers and a special "Light Show" trophy for the best looking lighted rig If you plan to attend "Descent into Drakness" we suggest camping over night. This comp will likely run very late into the night. We strongly suggest having LED's or some kind of lights mounted to your rig, the more the better. Light Show Stipulations Each Judge will pick witch rig they like the best then all other competitors present will place a ticket in a cup in front the 5 selected rigs. We'll then tally the ticket totals to find out who has the most tickets. There will be only one winner. The rig and or body must be ran through both night courses. It's not necessarily who has the most lights, it's the overall look of the rig with the lights on. With "Descent into Darkness" being on a Saturday night even if you work Saturday or Sunday, you still should be able to make it to this one. I'm sure that there will be some people who won't be able to talk their mommies in to letting them stay up past their bedtimes, but even they could still get 3 courses in B4 bed 801RCC uses USRCCA rules http://www.usrcca.com/rules/2010.pdf this is a FREE comp and open to anyone running a USRCCA legal 2.2 or 1.9 rig See ya on the rox Last edited by NaZ-T; 07-09-2010 at 03:28 PM. |

Wow What a great time!! Descent is THE comp of all comps. I didn't see one person that wasn't having a blast!!! The courses had some awesome and challenging gates. I saw people discussing their tactics and what they thought would be the best way to take the obstacle. It really made you think. the night courses were just flat out cool very challenging and of course the darkness played tricks on your mind making the gates and obstacles seem a bit more intimidating. Everything went incredibly smooth. Thanks to everyone that helped out, Judging, garbage, comp and camp supplies, and everyone that continues to come out to support 801RCC. You guys are what makes this club the best club in the world!! It was cool to see all the full size rigs wheelin around too. I only saw one of the rigs break and man was it awesome, it left a trail of parts down the hill behind it. I had an absolute blast. I swear every year this comp gets better and better. The light show was a ton of fun. COngrats to Jackopuss, that was one good lookin rig. I could keep going on and on about how much fun this weekend was. Okay now I need to upload some pics so I'll stop typing. Thanks everyone for the great memories and for the many more we'll have. Scores 2.2's 1.9's |

Im very familiar with that spot, IN fact those are my black marks. I used to practice there almost everyday back in the day. Anyways Im bummed I didn't even know of this comp, would have loved to come out. Question what if I wanted to compete in this? How would it be possible/fair for someone in a chair? ANY IDEAS? |
