| 2011 VARCOR Point Series - Event #1 - Oct 23rd - Richmond, VA 2011 VARCOR Point Series - Event #1 It's time to finish your testing, painting the new bodies, and tooling around. The 2011 VARCOR Point Series is about to begin. Our season opener will be on Saturday, October 23, 2010 in Richmond, VA at Belle Isle. Click here for the map. You can map out directions from that link. Just enter your starting address in the 'From' field and map it out. Parking will be along street so hopefully you can parallel park, LOL. Please look at this link for pics of it. This season, we're following the 2010 USRCCA Rules. Please read them over here. We have implement some rule changes from the 2010 Point Series season in all classes except for the 2.2 Sportsman class to include on-course repairs only (USRCCA rule 1.4.2), no 20 point carry rules (USRCCA rule 1.7.2), and starting gates are live. Theses were optional rules in the USRCCA guidelines which I took out of play during the Summer Series and worked well. At the drivers' meeting, we can discuss any additional questions, issues, or concerns that is not discussed in that post. ********************************* Course setup will start before 7:30 am Registration and Tech will start at 8:00 am Drivers Meeting / Course Review at 9:15 am Start Competition at 9:30 am Note the time changes due to the days getting shorter. ********************************* We will need volunteers to setup the courses. Also, if you have stop watch or timer, please bring it for the judges. Also, prepare for the weather since Bell's is pretty much open to the elements. And remember for the newbies, it's a long walk to the comp site (aka... the dreaded stairs and walking over the rocks) so bring everything you need to be out there (tools, parts, food, water, extra clothes, good shoes, etc). ********************************* The inclement weather date will be the following Saturday, October 30, 2010. ********************************* Please post here if you plan to attend and if you will have a 2.2 Comp, 1.9 Comp, 2.2 Sportsman, or Super. The main event will be the 2.2 comp class. Based on turnout, we'll run either the other classes afterwards or during the 2.2 comp class - remember, only 3 drivers are needed to run a class. |
