Thumbs up 2011 4th Annual AZ Summer Shootout...June 3-5

NARCCA Presents the 4th Annual AZ Summer Shootout

This is a can't miss comp!!!
You get to compete at one of the greatest crawling spots in Arizona with some of the Nations top drivers. Our rocks are second to none with the flowing high traction granite, steep inclines and deep crevices.
-Where-
The beautiful Granite Dells of Prescott Arizona nestled in a city park called Waston Lake Park.

View Watson Lake Park-west comp site in a larger map

-When-
June 3-5

Watson Lake Park/campground has just enough camp sites right next to the granite rocks. Camping is $10 a night and includes restroom facilities along with showers. We recommend you camp out with us so you don’t miss any of the outrageous activities that occur. Campsites are first come first serve but several of us will be there early Thursday morning to setup camp and reserve all the camp sites next to the rocks like we did last year. This year the city is opening the camp site one day earlier so if you can make it Thursday, then by all means do.

For those who dont want to camp. Here is a list of good hotels in the area.
Hampton Inn
Holiday Inn Express
Forest Villas
Hassayampa Inn

Trophies will be awarded to the top 3 for each class. That means we will be giving away 12 trophies. Each driver will receive a raffle ticket for our giveaway items. We will have tons of giveaway prizes.

We will try hard to stick to this schedule. Please make sure you get to and through the courses in a timely manner so the event flows smoothly. We will have over 60 2.2 drivers to get through 5 courses on Saturday.

Sportsman Clarification for this event.
Our Sportsman class is really a beginner/new to crawling/not a lot of experience type driver class. In the past we have allowed shaft driven and MOA's since it is based mostly on the drivers so that is how we will handle it this year. It is a no dig class PERIOD. The Sportsman course is 5 challenging gates with a time limit of four minutes.

G6 is happening go here for more details and get signed up: N.A.R.C.C.A / R.E.C.O.N G6 Challenge June 3,4 2011

Proposed Itinerary:

Thursday: setup camp, meet new friends, see old friends and test out the rocks

Friday afternoon/evening: tech, setup camp, test out the rocks and meet new people and old friends.
G6 Daytime Stage June 3rd starting @ 5 pm

Saturday 2.2 comps, 5 courses and 5 minutes(10 gates +bonus section) for pro and 4 minutes for Sportsman(5 gates):
7AM drivers meeting and pics then off to the courses
5pm Slash bash followed by dinner
G6 Night Stage June 4th starting @ 7pm

Sunday 1.9 and Super comps, 3 courses each to finish up by 11am
7am drivers meeting then off to the courses
11:30am awards and giveaways

We are needing 10 judges to help this year. Two people from our club have stepped up so that leaves 6 more people. A judge will be asked to work no more than 4-5 hours on Saturday and no more than 4 hours on Sunday. We will accommodate the Judges by giving them Judge event shirts and waving their registration fees. If this interests you and you feel you have the experience and knowledge of the USRCCA rules then please send a PM to winkscrawler and redlinerob with info on your judging experience.

Judges so far:
Phyuck Yiu, 928Darwin, Punkfan, nicodrive01, Greatscott, Dred-eye, Jamesdicken

We still need Judges. As of right now we have 3 Judges and we need 7 more. Come on guys, make this event even easier on your wallet and be an Official Judge at one of Arizona's Premier events. Inquire within.
