| Awesome, time to get going on my new build then. I know the easy part is throwing out sugestions but here it goes anyway. It would be cool to see this in the middle of the state to make it the most driving accessible to those from the North and South. Between San Luis Obisbo and Santa Barbara? Of course Pacific Grove (Monterey) would be a sick location for something like this and we already have approval by the City to hold rock crawling events there. (We would just want to check in with them for an event of greater magnitude like this.) |

| Mamooth Lakes has it all! Plenty of rock, Campgrounds for tents and RV's with all the services, more rock, snow, is about the same distance for both the Nor-Cal and So-Cal Drivers! And an Airport too! Last edited by Waiting Dragon; 07-04-2011 at 09:49 AM. |

I could do a camping weekend to mammoth with someone else after the Rocas Rojos comp, split the cost of gas and do some evaluating.

We all know it gets HOT in California this time of year, so do you really want to throw a big event at a (hot!)low elevation lake? Why not try a nice refreshing location, such as Wishon Reservoir. Or even Dinky Creek/Shaver area. These locations are in Fresno County, just east of the city. Camping is available, and there is more than enough rock to find a good course. I plan on going up to said area soon, so I could snap a few photos of some possible areas. If you want something in between north and south Cali, it doesn't get any more central than Fresno. |

Lets face it, the only people that will really like the location are those that are close to it. Find one that meets the criteria that this comp needs and go with it... |

Heres millerton lake and it's not so far up into the mountains It's just out of fresno almost the same way to Wishon lake but a lot closer to hwy 99. I myself have never crawled here but there has been a lot of people i've talked to that said it's badass. If you google Millerton lake ca you can see all the info.
