Default MN summer series comp #2

Mark your calendars for Sunday July 16th for the Second of Eight in the Mn summer comp series.

Location is: Taylors Falls Mn.
Interstate State Park.
Pothole trail.

Sunday July 16th 2006
Drivers meeting and tech inspection start at 11:00am sharp.
First truck through the gates at high noon.

We had a great showing last comp with 10 competitors and about 18 trucks in 3 classes. (not bad for a 1st comp for a new club)

***NOTE***
We have a new location for this comp, and it's well worth the drive.
Since this is a State Park, there is either a daily or yearly parking pass to purchase. Since this is an ideal spot for crawling gtg's/comps, and there's other great area's in State Parks near by, it might save you some dough to purchase a yearly pass.
Hope to see everyone there.

Pic's of the comp area can be seen here: http://www.rccrawler.com/forum/showt...618#post336618

Wow, killer spot to crawl.

Won't make this one, but later on in the year I'll come up.

It's about an hour North of Mpls straight up 35W to Hwy 8. Right on the Mn/Wi border.
Taylors Falls, Mn
I'll try and get a zip, or have Adogg post one of his maps.
My map tells me its about 383 from Omaha to Mpls.

Can't wait for this Sunday's comp. As far as directions, I tried to copy links from Google but it's not cooperating with me. So here's a brief explaination-it's real easy:

Coming from the south:
Take Interstate 35 north (it will split into east and west as you approach Burnsville-I would suggest taking west but they both will get you there) to Hwy 8 towards Taylors Falls. Continue directly to Taylors Falls (it's about 20 mins or so on Hwy . Once you're in Taylors Falls there is only 1 stop light-turn right there, it will lead you directly into the state park parking lot.

Coming from the east or west:
If you're on Interstate 94 just simply exit on either I-35w or I-35e north and follow the directions above.

Hope this helps, and I hope to see you there! It is projected to be very hot that day (heat index of 100 or more) so dress accordingly and bring lots of fluids... just an FYI there is a gas station across the street.

Default MN summer series comp #2

12 hrs 5 minutes boys and girls till comp time
We will be kicking this one off promptly.
A few of us are meeting early to set up.
It looks as though this should be a great turn out.
Preliminary estimates look to have about 14-17 competitors and 25-30 rigs running in 3 classes.
We all know it's going to be a hot one tomorrow. Probeater posted up in the Mn thread that he has a couple of cases of bottled water. Bring whatever else to drink you may want.
GOOD LUCK TO ALL COMPETITORS!!!!

Wow, what a suprise to awake to a thundershower. Fawk, nothing was in the forecast for rain at all. Oh well, storm warning is only until 7:00 am.
Lets hope it passes quick. I wish I would have finished loading last night though :-(.
Time to hope in the shower, finish loading and get my arse going by 7:00 am.
See you all there.
