Thanks Matt, Rig Rocker took some much better pics so i had to edit the crappy ones out the little pouch from Mandy works killer to store the tow rope and pulpal., need to get another one from you guys if you still have some, the stitching is pulling loose in a few spots trying to get Clint and a few others out to do some winching practice this weekend this one is not going to be quite as extreme as the last one is it?

I'm almost tempted to put a warning notice for the solo sign ups that winch is required if your a solo driver :confused: a lot of guys didn't have winches at the 1st event which I think put a strain on the guys who was partnered with them.

Ill say the first 25 gates will be doable, but after that there won't be any easy sections until around 75 :eek:

Less than two weeks away. Wow time flies. Anyone interested in servo winches pm me and I'll set u up with local hobby shops that will be able to get you going :thumbup:

There won't be a TTC winch section like at the last event, which is what caused the bottle neck and so called Winch fest area. The last course was also much larger with a lot of tough terrain. This course is more centrally located with a lot of tough terrain. I noticed at the last event, the more capable rigs and experienced drivers welcomed the challenge. I did see a lot of people driving like it was a solo event and not working as a team. Also noticed rigs having to winch in spots that our course testing rigs did not..Each line was driven with a bulky Dingo as well as Martin's Bug, so this has been taken into consideration on the next course set up. A small majority of the TM's required assistance to clear cleanly and most drivers were hauling ass due partly to the length of the course. If teams approach each TM with a plan and stay working together, then rigs will also stay together. A team can haul ass through the course, but if they do not do it clean than all that rush was for nothing.

This event and course will flow much smoother, but still will be full of tough, challenging terrain and smart, technical driving with a much faster driver turn over.

Right on guys, I'm glad to see that Matt and Martin are putting in so much time and effort to make such a great event for us. What's the ground cover like? I remember Amador having lots of shale. Is the water scene on the course going to require me to make the TJ submarine worthy? Can't wait!

As for solo drivers, I'm thinking we should have a thread for all solo drivers at each OTC. This way we can post up our rigs and specs and start to try to find a teammate and start planning and getting to know how the other drives and equipment they carry. This should also lead to more teams for future events. Matt and Martin, what do you think?

Let us know if you have a idea on how or where for solo drivers to conversate. Maybe the area916 site will be able to have it's own thread for this kind of topic??

A lot of technical rock lines, depending on how much rain they get there will still be water to play with BUT the human path may be a bit dangerous so they may need to be bypassed. Matt and I will be back out there one or two more times before the 19th.

Just got my RC4WD tough armor rear bumper installed last night and fixed my winch a few days ago.
We are ready to rock and hopefully NOT ROLL like last time!

Getting close now when you go to the top of the hill you'll see a dirt road to the left before the water/dam. You'll see a building and camping on the other side of the lake. We will be at the end of the dirt road on the left but you will need to go to the building to get your parking pass $10 per car. They have a coffee shop open from 6am to 3pm. There is a porta poti along the dirt road where we will be parking along. A little walk from our check in. If all goes well I'll have my yellow suzuki easy up.
