I agree that I like the bodiless rigs for the function over form approach, but I will say that if you put yourself in a newbs position when they show up to a comp for the first time you will realize that if everyone was running a bodiless rig the $$$ signs just pile up faster and they look at them as more of a "custom" rig and it seems like it might be harder to get into the hobby and be competitive. If everyone is running a body it adds more "character" to the class and people can relate to the class more. This is especially true for people coming from other areas of the RC world. Think about this...do you go to any SC races and see bodiless rigs (tube frame)? I know that doesn't make sense...but it kinda does. By requiring a body it does a better job of putting everyone on the same playing field. When you have half the drivers running a bodiless rig that's probably half the size of a bodied rig there are some obvious advantages in certain situations.

Coming from a vendors point of view I can see benefits to both sides. A new customer in the hobby can relate tot he 2.2s class easier when they see they can buy something like the Ridgecrest right off the shelf vs. coming to a comp and seeing a bunch of bodiless rigs that they don't see for sale on the shelf. I'll stop rambling now...

That would suck to get a reverse penalty every time you tried to make a turn.

Is that more than usual for an AX-10 axle?

Just depends on axle shafts, but from the looks of yours that would be xr shafts

Alrighty guys... two weeks away Hope yall are ready. Seems like its been a long time since the last comp.

I'm really looking forward to it. I think we might run an extra 2.2 course and an extra sportsman course since we have more daytime.

We will see.

Don't forget we have been talking about food for this comp too.

Also... likely going to schedule May's comp for the 19th.

Hey Ryan just placed an order on the website. I was going to wait for the comp but I may need to get my hands on some of them parts before then.

Lush and NICKH have got me rolling on this sportsman xr mod.

Well where im going in Florida there is no where to crawl i see no reason to take them. I wish there was some nice rock down on the edge of the shore line but its all open beach as far as you can see.
