last event, I was schooled by Joe on the "gate penalty" rule. Joe happen to be at the only gate that I hit last event. I hit one of the half tennis balls and took the penalty, then while turning myself around thinking the whole gate was dead, I backed into the other half tennis ball of the same gate, then Joe said I hit another gate. so I got two gate penalties on the same gate. did everybody else know about that rule?. It's not too clear in the rules. Oh well, I know now.

apparently, you don't only how to read GSRCCs rules, but you actually have to go to the SORCCA rules and read them also.

Gate Marker: (+10 pts each) Each gate will be comprised of 2 gate markers. Points are given when all wheels do not travel between gate markers or any part of the vehicle, a tow strap or winch line touches a gate marker. A gate marker will remain "live" for the entire duration of the attempt on the course. Once any gate marker has been touched or straddled, no more penalties will be given for that gate marker. Only when a gate penalty is assessed will that gate marker be deemed "dead". No further penalties will be assessed at this point for that gate marker. There will no longer be a penalty for stepping on a gate (for safety reasons) but please stay off course as much as possible and limit course damage.

Clarification on the rules:

That's correct. All gates are live for the entire duration of the course. Running over any part of the gate, rolling on it, straddling it, floating it, etc., is a -10 point penalty.

GSRCC Exception: A person assisting another driver on course may hit any gate without penalty during the assist. The driver being assisted is not exempt from the gate penalty during the assist.

I just finished rebuilding the comp scaler! New shocks, de-cased the Tekin and receiver and waterproofed, new motor, new spur cover, re-soldered, re-wired with new recieved plugs, re-zip-tied, and a new 4-chanel radio! I'm ready for scale endurance 18!

Make sure you dial in your rig now! We're hitting the scale comp lines! This event will be fun, challenging, yet do-able. Can't wait!

New shocks, de-cased the Tekin and receiver and waterproofed, new motor, new spur cover, re-soldered, re-wired with new recieved plugs, re-zip-tied, and a new 4-chanel radio! I'm ready for scale endurance 18! Make sure you dial in your rig now! We're hitting the scale comp lines! This event will be fun, challenging, yet do-able. Can't wait!
