Default PARC March 25th Comp

**New Info**
Location: 24th Street
Start Time: 9am

Directions:
For 24th Street events: 24th street dead-ends at South Mountain Park, approximately 6 miles south of Sky Harbor Airport and Downtown Phoenix. Parking is available just east of the dead-end. If you show up and don’t see anyone around in the parking lot with crawlers, please walk up the trail or over the ridge. We’re never too far off. See the image below.

Map:

****A NEW POLL IS UP. YOU CAN PLACE MULTIPLE VOTES NOW. I DELETED THE OLD THREAD****

We'll setup courses and run two stages for each class at once at this event. I've asked Mike to acquire more clipboards and stopwatches so we can do this. We'll try to get done earlier. I put up a post about locations. We need to decide if we are going to:

1) Vote on locations each time or
2) Vote on 4 locations, and rotate them throughout the points series.

Also, vote for the location of this next event.

I think setting a list of comp locations would be great, we will be able to get the word out long before the comp.

Default Setting up locations

Pre setting the locations is a great idea. Would we have a vote in person at the next comp?
I think it would take some discussion as a group on the good and the bad of each location.
Things like Rangers, Bikes, parking, travel time to each spot, quality of terrain to crawl on.
Even the time of year, 24th st is a bi--h in the mid summer heat. Any thought on this

We'll still run at least 3 stages. But we'll try to have people running on two courses per class simultaneously. This way we can get done faster and or run more stages so people can get more run time.

So right now you are running 2.2 and super correct? Have you thought about running a scale class? Also what rules are on 2.2 or super? I am building both right now and was wondering about doing front dig in the 2.2 or are you allowing rear steer in the 2.2 as well?? I have a 2.2 scaler I could run until my wk, tf builds are done.

The last time I ran a comp at 24th street we were asked to move to
east of the parking lot area by a ranger. The place we moved to was
small and very crowded. Lots of hikers and bikers. The summit has
more to offer than that spot did. It was also a bit of a walk to get there.

Rick, I think you are talking about the central ave spot.

The trail is to the west of the parking area at 24th St. and there are 3-4 good spots in about 200ft up the trail.

Keep in mind the Junkyard is still available for the warmer comps. Not exactly the best crawling, but the shade and coolers help.

Is there a list of dates for the comps. I'm moving to AZ on the 25th so I obviously won't make that comp, but I am interested in the remaining comps in the series.

Rick, my condolences.

I've posted the 2007 schedule here:

http://www.thecrawlerstore.com/events.html

I'll update it with the locations when we have chosen them.
