I aint affraid of a 40% probability of measurable precipitation and a high of 47deg. That's 60% chance of no precipitation. BRINg IT ON!

Hell the first time We went out to crawl in colorado we crawled in tornado weather.

Well who the hell knows...

Me
Grizz
Utbeamer
Mike
Rory
Pops
Marta (may leave at 1:00)
Sp. Ed
Kaetwo (may come after 2:00)

And we never know who else... those are the only ones that have told me they will be there. But thats alot for confirms... last comp it was only me, kaetwo, utbeamer, and Pops that said they would come for sure and we ended up having 22 trucks there. So you never know???

That's a good turnout if they all show.

I'll be there regardless of the weather so we'll have a good time even if have crawl on Utbeamer's couch.

Man, every time I see a forecast it's worse. Next it will be 2" of snow in the valley and 35 degrees! Bummer, it's going opposite the way I'd hoped.

BTW, I'm not scared, I'm just not a masochist.

UTRCRC is just like the United States Post Office; no rain, sleet, snow nor hail will stop the comp. Had a blast, thanks PinchFlat.

UTRCRC – Hammer Down at Hamburger Hills, Saturday, April 9th

Yes, we had it all. We had wind, rain, snow, hail, blue sky, calm, cold, and everything in between. But that didn't stop the UTRCRC from having a BLAST out at Hamburger Hills. The rain, snow and hail really wasn't that bad wasn't bad. The dirt road was graveled and kind of sandy, so mud wasn't an issue. What the worst thing out there Saturday was the cold. It got down right frigged every so often. But we persevered.

We had a real good turnout considering the weather. And those that braved the conditions had a great time. Many guys told me during the course of the day, that Hamburger Hills is now probably one of their favorite places to crawl.

(A small note about Hamburger Hills: The rock out there looks like petrified hamburger, hence the name. With it’s rough bumped and pebbles surface almost any tire will grip on this stuff, even as wet as it was Saturday. Now I’m not exaggerating one bit when I say this… Crawlers can easily get traction up a 60-75 deg incline there…. REALLY, there is no exaggeration in this statement. Just ask anyone that was out there.)

We had 12 - Super Crawlers and 6 - 2.2 crawlers turn out. Here are the days results:

I'll tell you wha happened. Imex tires on the first course, Pro-Line Tires on the second and third. I was going to drop out of the super-crawler class until Pinchy let me borrow his Moab's.

I tried the new K-Rocks and JSD's on JYD and All-T's on The Duke and they simply would not hook up like the Moab's and 2.2 Masher 2000's. Once I switched tires it was game on.

I want to thank UTRCRC for putting on yet another excellent comp. I really had a blast.

The courses were challenging but fun, the rules were set up to keep things moving and fun, and all the guys there were super nice.
I really enjoyed seeing everyone again as well as meeting some new people. The UTRCRC comps are so much fun, I am happy to make the trek down there and will do so again. The family however is not ready to make the drive again next month, looks like they will be staying home.

If you've never been to a UTRCRC comp, don't let anyone tell you that just because they are fun they are not hard.
Check out the bent frame and busted off rollbar kicker on The Duke!!! CARNAGE!!!
