Default How To Get To Moonrocks...

DIRECTIONS:

GPS Coordinates (Copy and Paste to Google Earth also):
N39° 50.960 W119° 44.378
-----------------------------------------------------
It is about 2 1/2 hours from Roseville, CA area. Moonrocks is 35 minutes, 24 miles North of Sparks and I-80.

Directions :

I-80 from Sac to Reno. After Reno is the city of Sparks. Turn north on Hwy 445 towards Pyramid Lake. Follow 445 out of town.

[About 20 minutes into the drive on 445 will be a convienience store to get junk food. ]

At about 16 miles from I-80. Look for Winnemucca Ranch Road on the left and turn onto it.

On Winnemucca Ranch Road, drive 6 miles [this road will become a dirt road after a few miles], turn left on the dirt road labeled Hungry Valley OHV area [sign not easy to see] and drive up to rocks [You will see the rocks].

You will have to drive around looking for the group somewhere up in the middle of the rock piles.

**NOTE**
There is nothing but dirt and rocks here. A couple of porta-potties should be on site. A 4x4 is recommended to get up to the crawl location, but you can always park and make a short walk up. Bring everything you may need. Please pack EVERYTHING out.

Here is a cool site about the Rec. Area there:
