Just found out about this. Thought you guys might be interested. http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=890340 J |
I was interested until I noticed it was a clod style setup rather then a shafty. |

Its on Duratrax website it even has a pics gallery and video. Check out the option parts. http://www.duratrax.com/cars/dtxd18-...ber/index.html |
But shaft style crawlers have a much better appeal to them. I just like the mechanics of the driveshafts on stuff. Motor driven axles may be your best bet for comps but they just take away the scale aspect for some of us. |

I did a little work in GIMP to make it look a little more comp ready. http://i161.photobucket.com/albums/t...climberext.jpg |
Thats fine and I am glad this fits the bill for alot of you. I see alot of crawlers that have drive shafts and this is what appeals to me. I guess I am kind of like Indian Larry in a way. He loved the mechanical aspect of things like myself. I have just been keeping an eye out for a new RTR toy to hit the market. Something to get me playing around till I get my scaler finished. |
Drove one this weekend at the Ultimate Crawler Championship, and now that I have driven BOTH the Cliff Climber and the new Losi truck which one I purchase first is up to the manufactures.;-) Hope they don't release both during the same billing cycle:shock: Thanks Jason! |
Its a cool little outfit for sure ! |
Looks like if you got a Losi Mini LST2/Mini baja You could gut it and use the motors, esc and radio and get the kit version. anybody out there know if this is possible? |
I am thinking of getting a new mini crawler to supplement my clod crawler, and this looks good as does the losi crawler. But I have a few questions. First, are the motors lathe motors? How many turns are the motors? What is the bec rating of the ESC? Can the ESC be made to be run on one battery only? Like the old school Traxxas EVX's. And what is the motor limit for the ESC? Lastly what is the battery voltage limit for the ESC? Please excuse me if this has already been answered. |

Mr. Ed, you could do that, but you'd end up spending more than what the RTR costs buying two vehicles. |

specs on the esc, http://manuals.hobbico.com/dtx/dtxm1280-manual.pdf roller may be a better choice, aftermarket electronics....esc, radio, etc. i lik'n the tekin fxr and add an e-dig....looks good. |
I always had a thing for shafty's myself, but after driving my Berg in a few comps i have to say.................... I got a chance to see theese lil rigs in person. One stock & one hopped up. I didn't drive it, but I saw it run and I like it! I was never a big fan of Duratrax, but their stress tech guarantee is cool "thumbsup" |
I would still like to know if the one battery conversion can be done. I like using one battery only and like to cut the top weight down. Their site says low rpm crawling motors, but no turn count. |
