Default Man ! Duratrax Screwed Up

so i order the optional 11t pinion part number dtx8347. i go to put the 11t on the rear and take the "stock" 12t off to help with clod stall.i was going to leave the stock gear on the front...well i got the gear in the mail today and take out my motor and remove the "stock 12t" and im looking at it and it looks the same size as the gear i just got..so i count the teeth and its an 11t !

new ones are still in the unopened bag. argggh i tell ya.

Another way to look at it...

You screwed up. Should've taken that cover off and looked at the pinion.

Good news is you have spares should anything happen or you want to put pinions on a new set of motors and not bother with setting pinion depth when you swap back and forth.

yes i guess thats another way to look at it. i thought looking in the parts manual for the stock gearing would be sufficient. ive been in the hobby long enough to know that things can happen. regardless, duratrax screwed up ;) lol

I just found out yesterday that I did the exact same thing. No wonder it fit right in without any modifications.

At least it was only a $4 part.

Geez Stupid Duratrax......Wait, I wrote the manual. Sorry guys but the "(stock)" got placed under the wrong gear. The truck went through some changes during testing and one of those was that we went with the 11t instead of the 12t that it originally started with. I should have caught this. Sorry guys. I will make sure this is updated in future runs.
Thanks
Jason

I drove to 4 hobby shops looking for the 11t...
I got all excited because I finally found it and didnt have to order it....
what I did have is a 13t from my Vendetta ST so Im running 13t in the front and 11t in the rear and it is working really good w a mamba 25...

Default Just Goes To Show Ya, Read this Forum First.........

Well I ordered the CC yesterday morning and late last night I was making my way through all of the great info posted here and I did the same thing in ordering extra 11t pinions. So, I haven't seen where anyone suggested a 10t pinion, any suggestion?????

Thanks to all that share their know-how on this truck.

I thinking they wanted to go down a tooth, so I'm guessing they are ordering 10t gears now.

The manual says 12t pinion. People where thinking dropping to a 11t on the rear would help clod stall. When they went to replace...there was already an 11t there. So now I think most people are actually getting 12t for the front. The manual was never updated or anything to the stock 11t pinion.
