| can I run 3 cell lipo in stock climber?
is it possible to run 3 cell lipo in a cliff climber? I have two 620 11.1 lipos I was wanting to use for batteries and wasnt sure if the climber could handle it? Also if it wont handle the 3 cell can it run 2 cell lipo?

You dont need a lipo cutoff to run a lipo. Just keep an eye on it and learn how to read your rig and lipo. I dont have a lipo cutoff on any of my rigs except my crawler running the Sidewinder and never had an issue. I run my CC on a 3s all the time, its not enuff nutt with the stock ESC IMO.

So, outside of the cutoff issue, will the stock ESC handle a 3S lipo? I think it is rated for 8.4V max input, which is under the 11.1V you would get from 3s.

| I would think so. My esc is labeled 14.4-16.8 volt dual motor dual battery esc.....if you ran a single lipo you would actually be below that you could also run 2 1320 2 cell lipos or a single 4 cell lipo

You make a Y harness that goes from your Lipo into both plugs on the ESC. Hoing with 2 light weight Lipo 7.4v packs or even one 4s 14.8v wired with a Y harness is better then running 2 inefficent nimh or nicd packs that weigh 3x as much.

Or you could just get a dirt cheap LiPo voltage cutoff. Problem averted.

| http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...?&I=LXPGN1&P=7 You can get them for 2-cell, 3-cell, 4-cell, and so on. It will interupt your throttle and will flash an LED when the LiPo drops too low. Better than blowing up a battery and a rig from guessing. |

I'm bit confused on the layout of the stock ESC. Is it just a standard ESC with the inputs and outputs in parallel? If that's the case, running a 3s in series with the inputs will give you 5.55v per output (too low), and running the 3s in parallel will give you 11.1V (too high). Anyone tried this yet? On mine I plan on shorting the b1 wires out and running a pair of 2 cell 1300 mah batteries run in series. should be plenty of poop for it. I ran it on 1 single 7.2 nimh and it was not enough....it would run but not able to do anything. 14.8 volts should be great and 1300 mah will be plenty of time.
