| C.C. mods mild to wild
What do you guys think about a sticky that has all of the known mods for the C.C. ? But broke up into stages. Stage one being mods that can be done right out of the box for free or under like say 40.00 bucks. like moving suspension arms (free) or clocking the axles (using either dtx hop up parts, or building your own, about 25.00 bucks either way) so on and so forth, up to stage whatever like, replacing the chassis, electronics, and motors etc. . . you get the idea. I think it would help a lot of people out. You could kind of go as far as you want, or can afford for the time, without buying parts you dont need or messing stuff up and costing you more down the road ! By the way who can tell me what the "o" ring mod is I have heard it brought up here on the forum but what it is, or how its done, or what its for, i cant seem to find see what i mean |

Thread approved. Not sure why it did that. Sounds like a good idea. Anybody could contribute. there may be a free mods thread already too. |

X2 for me, I especially like the "build in stages" idea. |

i knew this would be a good idea but now we need people to start posting the mods that they may have done or that they know of in detail so we can start to see what we have to work with |

Well looks like nobody wants to put up anything ! so it looks like this will end up being my personal build from a rtr kit, torn down, and rebuilt, at the moment im waiting for my L.H.S. to get all of my parts in, as soon as that happens I will start the rebuild with step by step pictures and if I forget something im sure they will be a bunch of crawlers out there ready to point it out at least they will be putting somthing into the mix ! my L.H.S. said next week for the parts so after tuesday I should be able to start with pics.

Great idea, not sure why it didn't take off. I would be happy to post something, but my rc experience is in other areas; this crawling thing is all new to me. I'm glad to see you are going to continue to keep it alive with your own rebuild, look forward to seeing what you do.

Small cut pcs. of fuel tube or the right size O-ring in the CV cups to take the slop out of the axle shafts. Depends on your taste, but use normal drive hexs or cut the stock ones down. I like a slightly narrower track. Wheels/Tires: Level1
Level2
Level3
Transaxles:
Motors: Level1
ESC: Gets trickier as it depends on what motor you plan on running. The Banebot 390's need juice, so you need an ESC that can handle +/-12v. The Holmes 454s are screamers with lowend torque to boot, so they run fine on 7.2/8.4. More crawler ESCs handle that voltage. ESC with DRAG or HOLD brake. This is not that sticky of tire, there are better ones. I stayed with it for now because of the outer dia. I have not had this on a lot of rocks yet, so do not hold me to it. Basically trying to open up the tread to give it more chance to catch something. I may cut more. Lines in red are what I have cut away so far. |
